TEVET 1
Hanukkah 7th Night
“After
this the Feast of DEDICATION [of the
reconsecration of the temple] was taking place at Jerusalem. It was
winter …” (John 10:22 AMPC, emphasis
mine)
“And יהוה commanded us to do all these laws, to fear
יהוה our Elohim, for our good always, to keep
us alive, as it is today. And it is
righteousness for us when we guard to do all this command before יהוה
our Elohim, as He has commanded us.” (Deu 6:24-25)
I first wrote the
outline to this prayer of dedication more than twenty-five years ago, when my
husband and I were married. We wanted to
not only consecrate our marriage in the eyes of our Creator, but we wanted to
dedicate ourselves individually to the Elohim
Chayim, the living Elohim, that
our lives would reflect to whom we
belong. Since coming into the truth of
Torah, I have felt that this prayer is appropriate for these feast days that we
currently find ourselves in, the feast of Hanukkah. Being as how we are the temple of the living
Elohim (see 1Cor 3:16), it is certainly a wise decision to spend this time in
rededication.
Forever, O Yahweh,
Your Word stands fast in Heaven; it shall never
return to You empty, but it shall always accomplish that which You intend for it to do.
My trust is in You, Abba, and I do not lean on my own understanding. In all my ways, I will acknowledge You, and You shall direct my path. For Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a
light to my path; my delight is in Your Word, and I meditate in it day and night.
You are the Good
Shepherd, and I am very careful to listen for Your voice. You faithfully lead me, guide me, and You
instruct me in the way I should go. May
I always have ears to hear, and a heart that hungers and thirsts for Your
righteousness. Cause me to hear Your
loving-kindness in the morning, for in You do I trust. Cause me to always know the way where I should walk, for I lift my
heart to You.
You are my
sufficiency, for You are the El-Shaddai,
the All-sufficient One, and You meet
my every need according to Your riches in glory by Messiah Yeshua. You are the Elohim who teaches me to profit,
who leads me in the way I will go.
Because You are my Shepherd, I
am not in want, and no good thing will You withhold from me, for I strive to
walk uprightly.
My desire, Abba, is
to glorify You, in all that I say and do.
My life is an open epistle read by all men; may it always be a testimony
and a blessing to my loving Father and omnipotent God. I submit myself to You, Yah, in gratitude for
the many blessings that You have given to me.
All I can give You in return, Father, is my heart and my life, to do
with according to Your desires,
according to Your will. I love You, Avinu Malkeinu, my Father, my King, and I gladly bow my knees to
You, and to Yeshua of Nazareth, my Messiah.
