KISLEV 2
Promotion
There
are several standard requirements in the kingdom of our Creator that will put
us in line for ‘promotion’: humility,
obedience, and the heart of a servant.
All these qualifications walk hand in hand and can even be called mirror
images of each other. A successful
servant is one who is both obedient and humble, and a servant that has been
proven trustworthy in their obedience will be rewarded (Jam 4:10). However, it is difficult to cultivate the
heart of a willing servant without both
attributes of humility and obedience.
“But it will not be
so among you. But whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your
servant. And whoever desires to be first
among you, let him be your servant; Even as the Son of Man did not come to be
served, BUT TO SERVE, and to give His life a ransom for many.” (Mat 20:28 ISR,
emphasis mine)
The
humble, obedient and willing heart of a servant is the heart-beat of our Messiah Yeshua.
Anything else that is not birthed out of these principles has its root
in pride and arrogance – the opposite of humility - and will be the death of
any promotion in the kingdom of our Father.
The heart of servant is one always
willing to obey, and like Samuel, will answer, “Here I am” (1Sam 3:4).
“… make my joy
complete by being of the SAME MIND, having the same love, one in being and of
purpose, doing none at all through selfishness or self-conceit, but IN HUMILITY
consider others better than yourselves.
Each one should look out not only for his own interests, but also for
the interests of others.” (Phi 2:2-4 HRB, emphasis mine)
“But above all these put on love, which is a bond of the
perfection.”
(Col 3:14 ISR)
Our
Elohim can do tremendous things through
people who take no notice as to who gets the credit for what is done …
