Tammuz 20
True of False

“If anyone should say to you then, behold the Messiah is here or there, do not believe it.  For false Messiahs and lying prophets WILL arise and they WILL produce signs and great wonders in order to DECEIVE if possible even the chosen.  Behold, I have told you beforehand.”  (Mat 24:23-25 AENT, emphasis mine)

While still on this earth, Messiah Yeshua, as well as the first apostles, warned us that there would be a false ‘Way’ in the end times, a doctrine not according to Torah, a counterfeit, if you will (see Mat chapter 24, 2Pet 2:1-3).  Noah Webster defines ‘counterfeit’ as: “that which is made in imitation of something with a view to defraud, by passing the false for true; assuming the appearance of something; not genuine”[1].

To put this into other words, this so-called end-time religion would have all of the appearance of the true Way, the walking and living out of the Torah-lifestyle.  Only those who have diligently “studied to show themselves approved” (2Tim 2:15), and who are now trained (such as bank tellers and cashiers are trained to recognize counterfeit bills) will recognize this false religion, and not be taken in and deceived by it.

So how do train ourselves?  It is very simple: through the Word of YHWH.  The Word is always the first, and the last, authority on everything.  However, we must first learn, study, and familiarize ourselves with this Word, so that we may be complete and well-equipped for every good work (2Tim 2:15; 2Tim 3:17).  What this also means is that we should have more than a casual knowledge of the foundation of all of the Scriptures, which is the Torah, the first five (5) books of what is referred to as the Old Testament.

Accompanying our ever increasing absorption of the Word of our Elohim, we should seek to develop sensitivity in hearing the voice of the Holy Breath of YAH.   The Ruach/Spirit will quietly but firmly warns us, quicken to our spirits, that all is not as it might appear with a minister, a ministry, with a group, or an individual.  Does what we are hearing line up with the entire Word of Elohim, and His message of deliverance through Messiah Yeshua?  Our Master Yeshua is the only way; He is the only truth; He is the only life (see John 14:6); He is the only door to the Father (see John 10:9).  There simply is no other way.

Who is the liar, except the one denying that יהושע is the Messiah? This is the anti-messiah, the one denying the Father and the Son.  No one denying the Son has the Father. The one confessing the Son has the Father as well.  As for you, let that stay in you which you heard from the beginning. If what you heard from the beginning stays in you, you also shall stay in the Son and in the Father.  And this is the promise that He has promised us: everlasting life.” (1John 2:23-25 ISR)

ABBA, Father, we ask You to sharpen in us the sense of hearing, our spiritual hearing, that we would be quick to hear when You caution us to take a step back, to take a second look.  Thank You, YAH, that You are the Teacher, that You are the Revealer of the Word, that You are the Illuminator of the Truth.  You, my Master, guide us into all truth. Thank You, YHWH, that You continue to fill us, and as we continue to feast on the Word, You bring it to our remembrance in the hour that we need it.  In the Name and authority of Messiah Yeshua we pray, Amein and AMEIN…
