NISAN 27
Saturated
“My
cup runs over.” (Ps 23:5)
King
David was the author of many of the Psalms, and the words that he wrote often reflected
events that happened throughout his life.
However, as with most of the Psalms, we are able to take these words and
apply them to our own lives, as we walk in obedience to Elohim's Word, His Torah. It is through our obedience that we can
truthfully say that “My cup runs
over.”
The Hebrew word that has been translated as ‘runs over’ is the word revâyâh (Strong’s H7310), and this verse is one of the two places where it is used in Scripture. It literally means to be completely saturated, to have an overflow and abundance. And as we have looked at this Psalm, we can see how completely our Creator has provided all that we need, that we may be completely ‘saturated’.
He is first our Shepherd, our care-giver. And because He is the One watching and tending to us, we are not in want. We have the nourishment that we need, in the physical and spiritual, available to us always. The areas of our lives that need tender loving care are completely in His hands, and we find ourselves restored and whole. Our Creator is the One who chooses the path that we walk upon, and through His Torah, He reveals to us the way in which we should live. When darkness and evil threaten to block our path, Elohim is there, walking with us through those troubled times. Because we know, according to our emunah, our faith, that our Father is always with us, we stand secure, and without fear. We accept His discipline and correction, knowing that because of His love for us, He only wants the very best for each one of us. And because of this amazing love, we have the future to look forward to, looking toward the banquet that He has planned, one like no other.
“I
pray that from His glorious riches He would grant you to be strengthened in
your inner being with power through His Ruach, so that Messiah may dwell in
your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may
have strength to grasp with all the kedoshim what is the width and length and
height and depth, and to know the love of Messiah which surpasses knowledge, so
you may be FILLED UP WITH ALL THE FULLNESS OF GOD.” (Eph 6: 16-19
