NISAN 30
My Residence
“And I shall dwell in the House of יהוה, To the length of days!” (Ps 23:6)
We understand from the Scriptures that the mishkan (tabernacle) that was raised in the wilderness was also
called the “Dwelling Place”, because, quite simply, the presence of Elohim
filled it (see Ex 40:34). In fact, many
translations refer to the mishkan as
the “Dwelling Place”, and rightly so. We
know that the hekal (Temple) in
Jerusalem, (Solomon was responsible for building the first one – see 1Kin
6:1), is called the “House of Yahweh”, where the presence of Elohim was also
found (2Chr 7:1).
According to His Word, our Elohim has another place in which He Dwells – within us, His children, those of us who are called by His Name (see 1Cor 6:19). However, as with all our dealings with our
Creator, there are responsibilities that we must acknowledge and tend to in
order to enjoy His 24/7 presence. It is
up to us to keep this dwelling clean and fit for His use or suffer the consequences.
“Do you not know that you are a Dwelling Place of Elohim and that the
Spirit of Elohim dwells in you? If anyone destroys the Dwelling Place of
Elohim, Elohim shall destroy him. For the Dwelling Place of Elohim is
set-apart, which you are.” (1Cor 3:16-17)
“And what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are
a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, “I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their
Elohim, and they shall be My people.” Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה, and do not touch what is
unclean, and I shall receive you. And I shall be a
Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says יהוה the Almighty.” (2Cor 6:16-18)
