Doing Exploits

 

“… but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and DO EXPLOITS [FOR GOD].” (Dan 11:32, AMPC, emphasis mine)

 

“… but the people who know their Elohim shall be strong, and shall act.” (Dan 11:32, emphasis mine)

 

Noah Webster, in his dictionary, defined ‘exploit’ as “a deed or act; more especially, a heroic act; a deed of renown; a great or noble achievement; as the exploits of Alexander, of Cesar, of Washington.”[1]  We have summarized for us, in the eleventh chapter of the Book of Hebrews, a ‘roll call’ of men and women who did exploits for our Elohim.  What was their secret?  Most people refer to this as the ‘faith’ chapter, and it is.  But what is faith?  It is complete and total trust, accompanied by a full belief in One with whom you have an ongoing, intimate relationship.  In other words, you must first know, closely, the One in whom you trust.

 

“But without faith {Hebrew EMUNAH} it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe {KNOW} that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out].”  (Heb 11:6, AMPC, emphasis and inserts mine)

 

All the people mentioned in this chapter – beginning with Abel, continuing through Abraham and Sarah, through David and all of the prophets, including our Daniel from the opening verse – they knew their Elohim, were able to prove themselves strong in His strength, stood firm, and it resulted in Elohim using them to do great achievements.

 

Nevertheless, exploits are not limited to these people in the one chapter, for our Master does not show partiality (Acts 10:34).  He has promised us that as long as we meet and follow the first three requirements (know Him, draw from His strength, stand firm in Him), we too can be used as His instruments …

 

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he shall do also. And greater works than these he shall do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14:12)
