The
Right Hand
“…And
Your right hand supports me …”
(Ps 18:35)
All throughout the Scriptures, the
‘right hand’ is the source of power and authority. This is an act that is similar to being given
“power of attorney” by Elohim, for everything accomplished by the right hand is
done so with Yahweh’s permission and agreement.
For example, we find that victory in battle is attributed to the right
hand of our Elohim (see Ex 15:6, 12; Ps 98:1), salvation is found at the right
hand of our Master (Ps 17:7, 20:6), the right hand of the Father is filled with
righteousness (Ps 48:10, Isa 41:10), and the right hand of our Creator is the
One that strengthens, sustains, and supports (Ps 63:8, 139:10, 16:10). The right hand of Elohim is always to be
exalted (118:14-17), which brings us to the next point of this discourse.
Messiah Yeshua is now seated at the
right hand of Elohim (Mark 16:19, Acts 7:56, Eph 1:20, Heb 1:13), at the place
of all power and authority. Perhaps it would not be incorrect to
interpret this to mean that Yeshua is the Father’s ‘right-hand man’, and it is
this conduit of power that enables us to stand and withstand! Hallelu-YAH!
“Elohim,
having of old spoken in many portions and many ways to the fathers by the
prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by the Son, whom He has appointed
heir of all, through whom also He made the ages, who being the brightness of
the esteem and the exact representation of His substance, and sustaining all by
the word of His power, having made a cleansing of our sins through Himself, SAT
DOWN AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE GREATNESS ON HIGH …” (Heb 1:1-3, emphasis mine)
“Who
is he who is condemning? It is Messiah who died, and furthermore is also raised
up, who is also at the right hand of Elohim, who also makes intercession for
us.” (Rom 8:34)
