CHESHVAN 24
Truth
“See, You have desired TRUTH in the inward parts, And in the hidden part
You make me know wisdom.”
(Ps 51:6 ISR, emphasis mine)
Emet (Strong’s H571) is the Hebrew word translated
as ‘truth’. In the Hebrew language, the
word emet is spelled with three
letters, the first (א aleph), middle (מ mem) and last (ת tav) letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Ancient Jewish wisdom interpreted this to
mean that ‘truth’ bonds everything Elohim created together, from the first to
the last, including all that is in
the middle. Truth denotes dependability,
reliability, trustworthiness, firmness, and something, or someone, that you can
stake your life on. And that is exactly
what we do, when we take our Messiah Yeshua at His word:
“Yeshua said, "I AM the Way — AND
the truth AND the life; no one comes to the Father except through me.”
(John 14:6 CJB, emphasis mine)
However,
truth is also an intense light (see Joh 8:12) and will bring under inspection certain
areas of our lives that might not be lining up quite like they should be. Abba Father is in the business of ‘character
building’, and prefers to use His
word, His Torah, as the means to accomplish this goal. May we all be sensitive to the voice of the
Spirit of Truth, the Spirit of Elohim
(John 14:17), as we are taught and instructed from the words of life ... For it is by the washing of the
water of the Word that we are sanctified
and cleansed (Eph 5:26).
“Your righteousness is righteousness forever, And Your Torah is truth.”
(Ps 119:142 ISR)
“Set them
apart in Your truth – Your Word is truth.”
(Joh 17:17 ISR)
