CHESHVAN 2
Overcomers
“You are of Elohim, little children, and have OVERCOME them, because He
who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” (1John 4:4 ISR, emphasis mine)
Our Creator does not ‘hand out’ to us, like a
welcoming gift, overcoming life when we recognize and acknowledge our need for
Him. Overcoming life is a process that
we walk through, and the path that we walk upon is called ‘obedience to His
Word’. And just as children work their
way through the school system, so it is with us. At every ‘class’ level, we are tested on what
we have learned, and it is only as we pass each test that we are able to
progress to the next ‘class’.
We will never have a ‘testimony’ without first
passing a test, regardless of whether we like the testing ground or not. It is these tests and trials that we find
strewn along the Torah path that prove
us (see Ex 20:20; Deu 8:2, 16), for there has to be something for us to overcome before we can be successful
overcomers.
“And they OVERCAME him because of the Blood of the Lamb, and because of
the Word of their witness, and they did not love their lives to the death.” (Rev 12:11 ISR, emphasis mine)
“So let us not grow weary of doing what is good; for if we DON'T GIVE
UP, we will in due time reap the harvest.” (Gal 6:9
CJB, emphasis mine)
No matter what our external circumstances may be
trying to tell us, our Elohim says we
are more than overcomers (see Rom
8:37). Whose report will you believe?
