Sivan 19
Your Praise
“According to Your Name, O Elohim, So is YOUR PRAISE to the ends of the
earth.” (Ps 48:10 ISR,
emphasis mine)
“Through him,
therefore, let us offer God a sacrifice of praise continually. For this is the NATURAL
PRODUCT of lips that acknowledge his name.” (Heb 13:15 CJB, emphasis mine)
Praise is
acknowledging, confessing, admitting and declaring back to our Elohim who and what He
is; it is an act of recognition and thanksgiving. We acknowledge Him as being our Creator and
Father. However, this is not all that
there is, Elohim is much more. He is our
Adonai, our Lord and Master (Ex 34:9;
Ps 57:9), our Deliverer (2Sam 22:2; Ps 144:2), our Redeemer (Job 19:25; Ps
78:34), our Prince of Peace (Isa 9:6), our Beginning and our End (Rev 1:8). We
were created to be vessels of praise to our Elohim, and by His praises being
continually in our mouths (Ps 34:1; 71:6), we are giving glory to Him. Praise is a commandment, it is not a choice, and
it is not something we do when we feel
like it (Ps 47:6; Isa 43:21). Praise is always meant to be an external
expression of an internal reality: a
heart that is totally in love with Elohim.
“And at midnight Sha’ul and Sila were
praying and singing songs to Elohim, and the prisoners were listening to them. And suddenly a great earthquake took place, so that the foundations of
the prison were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened and all the
chains came loose.” (Acts 16:25-26
ISR)
Can we praise Him
for who He is, not for what He can give us? Can we continue to love Him, worship Him,
adore Him, thank Him for everything that He has already done, instead of
looking for more, more, more – gimme,
gimme, gimme? He is the great I AM, and nothing is too difficult for
Him, even the situation, the bondage, the prison that imagine you are now
in. He can still cause earthquakes to
happen, and prison doors to open. Just
begin to praise Him, thank Him, love Him, obey Him, and trust Him to do the
rest.
“Nevertheless, you are
holy, enthroned on the praises of Isra'el.” (Ps 22:3 CJB)
