Iyar 29
Light
“… in
Your LIGHT do we see light.” (Ps
36:9 HRVS, emphasis mine)
“And again Yeshua was speaking to them and
said, I AM the LIGHT of the world. He who
follows ME will not walk in darkness, but will find for himself the LIGHT of
life." (John 8:12 HRVS, emphasis mine)
Scriptures teach us that Messiah Yeshua is
the Living Word, the Word made flesh, the One who came to dwell among us (see
John 1:1; 14). Further research reveals
to us that the word “Torah” (often used synonymously with “The Word”), loosely means
“divine instructions in righteous and moral living”. Does it not stand to reason, therefore, that
if we are in Messiah (Rom 8:1-2; 2Cor
5:17; Gal 3:26), who is not only the Living Torah (Word), but the Light of the world (see our opening
verses), He will give us of His light
to illuminate the written Torah? Without
the abiding spotlight of our Messiah, we will have little understanding of the
ways of our Elohim (see John 12:46).
Whose light are we chasing?
“Open my eyes, that I
might see Wonders from Your Torah.” (Ps 119:18 ISR)
“For
the commandment is a lamp, and the TORAH is light, and reproofs of instruction
are the way of life” (Pro 6:23 HRVS)
“For
it is the God who once said, "Let light shine out of darkness," who
has made HIS LIGHT shine in our hearts, the LIGHT of the knowledge of God's
glory shining in the face of the Messiah Yeshua.” (2Cor 4:6 CJB, emphasis mine)
