Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given me the Shabbat to be a sign for all eternity, verifying that I am Your child, Your set-apart and sanctified child, walking in covenant relationship with You. I thank You, YHWH Elohim, that as You chose this day to rest, I too may rest and honor You on this day, the 7th day, Your Shabbat. Thank You, Messiah Yeshua, that You are my Master of the Sabbath, and I will always stand complete in You! Amein!

Yom Berekha

Beginning at sundown this evening, we welcome Yom HaKippurim, the Day of Atonement.  This day is the culmination of the previous 40 days of self examination, and internal audit, where we come before our Creator with prayers of repentance, and with fasting.  May your fast be an easy one, and may you be sealed in the Book of Life!

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is teaching me the correct attitude with which to ‘fast’. I am to humble myself, to afflict my soul, and to be totally transparent with myself. I am to always remember the poor, hungry and destitute, and I am to have no part of malicious slander. It is when I am faithful to do these things, with the right heart and mind, that You, my Father, will guide me continuously, and satisfy my very being.  Amein!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who calms all of the traumatizing storms, tornadoes, and cyclones that rage through my existence. When the circumstances and situations of life overwhelm me, You, my Father, are there to pick me up, dust me off, and turn me around to where I recognize where I am: under the shadow of Your wings, the ONLY place of refuge worth seeking. It is to YOU that I run when the rip-tide threatens to drag me under, for You, my Father, are the HIGH TOWER no storm can penetrate. Worthy, worthy, worthy to receive all praise, all honor, all glory, is my Elohim!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who brings forth bread from out of the earth, to nourish me, strengthen me, sustain me, feed me. Thank You, my Father, for all of the good things to eat, while still remaining true to Your instructions concerning what is kosher. What an amazing buffet I have to choose from! Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created and established the changing seasons, seedtime and harvest, winter and summer, for Your eternal purpose. I thank You, my Father, for in Your wisdom You established a principal that never changes. I stand in awe of each season, in its own individual beauty and glory, and the bounty that it brings. And I am humbled, forever grateful, for the covenant that I have with You, the Adon Kol-ha’arets, the Master of all the Earth, the covenant that tells us: “as long as the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.”ABBA, Father, how I love You!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is the source of all light. You spoke Your Word, and created light, separated light from darkness, and gave the sun to rule the day. You sent Yeshua haMassiach, my Savior King, as the light of the world, always leading me away from the darkness. You are my ’Or Goyim, the light of the Nations, and I choose to follow You, knowing that inYou is my safe haven, my eternal rest and home. Thank You, YHWH Elohim, that no darkness dwells within You, and You will never change, as many shifting shadows are prone to do. Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who instructs me on how to make a ‘molehill out of a mountain’. Thank You, my Father, for the reminder that maturity does NOT come overnight, and it is not the mountain I make it out to be. I am not to “despise the day of small beginnings”, but I am to “keep on keeping on”, day by day, hour by hour, step by step. And as I continue every day, walking in YOUR Way, I can see the mountain becoming smaller and smaller, until it is finally nothing but a pile of dirt. Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is an Elohim  of order.  You have established a seven day week, a cyclical order in time, culminating in the 7th Day Shabbat.  Thank You, my Father, that I come to rest in the refuge and security that is the Shabbat.  ABBA, I delight in Your Shabbat!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for ‘mirrors’. When I examine myself in a mirror, if I am completely honest with myself, I see all that I am not, and all that I long to be.  Thank You, my Elohim, for the mirror of Your Word, Your Torah, that not only confirms these images, but also instructs me in how to become the individual you desire me to be. Thank You, ABBA, for all of the mirrors in my life.  Amein.

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has redeemed me from the curse of the law of sin and death. Because of Your everlasting, eternal love, You drew me, called to me, until I was able to answer You with a measure of the love that You poured into me. Because I turned and did teshuva, because I repented and turned away from all of my wrongdoings, I am now able to stand in right relationship with You, forgiven, and restored. AMAZING is too small a word to describe Your love! Amein!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who forgives me when I come to You, acknowledging and turning away from the SIN, the disobedience to Torah, that I have committed. Because of my act of “teshuva”, I can once again stand cleansed before You, once again in right relationship with my ABBA Father, and I am thankful, so thankful. Continue to search my heart, YAH, lest there be anything that is displeasing in Your sight; let my heart be found pure and pleasing to You. My one desire is to dwell in Your house forever … AMEIN!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who desires me to CHANGE from the ‘old man’ into the new. You NEVER change, but Your intention is for me to put away all of the childish, carnal things of my past, and change into Your bride, someone totally in love with You, and living the lifestyle You have laid out for me in the pages of Your Torah. Thank You, my Father, that from the caterpillar emerges the butterfly! Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is the BEST lifeguard there is. Thank You, my Father, that though I may find myself battling upstream without a life-preserver, YOU, my “Ha El Hame´azreni Chayil”, the El Who Girds me with Strength, hold my head above the water. I thank You, ABBA, for those faithful arms that I cling to. Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who fashioned and formed me within my mother’s womb.  Your Word tells me that I am “fearfully and wonderfully made”, and I stand in awe, ABBA, at how this body that You gave to me functions and works. Each part of my physical body has its place and purpose, yet all of it works together in unity and harmony. And yet, it’s ultimate purpose is to be YOUR temple, Your “hekal”, one that gives honor and esteem to You. I am in reverence, in worship, in adoration to You, my Creator …

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who instructs me to ‘guard’ the Sabbath, to watch over it, keep and protect it. The 7th day Sabbath is precious to me, a treasure of great worth and value, and I rejoice IN it.  Thank You, my Father, for this wonderful gift called Shabbat, one that I enjoy ‘guarding’! Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  HOW can I be a blessing to YOU, the Creator of everything? How can I show You, my Father, how much I love and appreciate You? By being obedient to Your Word, Your Torah, Your divine instructions in righteous and moral living – THIS is what You desire. May my heart always be willing, ABBA … amein.

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  As I read and study Your Word, I thank You for the continual admonition to “fear NOT”, and to trust in YOU. I know that fear destroys faith and trust, and when I rehearse the ‘what ifs’, I am elevating my circumstances above and beyond who You are, the “Ha El Osay Pele”, the Elohim Who Works Wonders. Help me, ABBA, to keep my eyes firmly fixed upon You. Help me to never doubt Your hand upon me. And help me to walk with the assurance that I have nothing to fear, for my Elohim is in control of my life … AMEIN!

Yom Berekha

For all of you folks who are still trying to dry out, remember, it is being thankful for even the little things that counts ...

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who gives me water to quench my thirst. The satisfying taste of a long, tall, c-o-o-l drink of water in the middle of a hot, dry, afternoon is one which has no equal, one to which I would say, “Aaaaaah!” Water is such a precious commodity, and yet I frequently take it for granted.  Thank You, ABBA, for the sweet, clean taste of water, for filling my thirst when I am dry, and keeping me moist with Your tender care! Amein and amein!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given me another night of sweet, restful sleep.  Thank You, ABBA, that as I sit, watching the outline of the hills taking shape in the coming dawn, I am as sure of YOUR love and care as I am of the coming day. You are the Creator, who set the sun, moon, and ALL of the stars in their appointed places, and that You concern Yourself with me is still beyond my comprehension. I am forever grateful, Yah … Amein.

Yom Berekha

I would like to dedicate this day's blessing to all of those who weathered Hurricane Harvey, and to all of those who are currently in the path of Hurricane Irma.  May all of you stay safe in the confines of the Father's hand.

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continues to bring me THROUGH. You, my Father, walk with me through the valley of death, through the rivers that threaten to drown me, through those desert areas where many lessons are learned, and through the fires that continue to burn away the dross. Thank You, ABBA, that You never abandon me. And I thank You, my Elohim, that as I continue on this journey through, You are at work IN me, completing what You started in me.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the Universe, who created and instituted the Sabbath, a beautiful thing, for me to enjoy. I delight IN You, ABBA, on this Shabbat, as I enjoy fellowship with YOU, together with others who are called by Your Name. I choose to meditate ON, and IN, Your Word, both the written and the LIVING, Yeshua HaMashiach, my soon coming KING! May Your Name be glorified in ALL the earth! Amein!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created FIRE. I am learning to be thankful, my Father, for the fires of testing and trial that You allow me to go through. And though it is never enjoyable, I am learning to recognize the faults, shortcomings, and yes, even the ‘trash’ within myself that these fires reveal. Your goal for me is the image and character of my Messiah revealed in and through me. Thank You, my Elohim, my Creator, that You ARE that “Consuming Fire”, burning out all of the dross that lingers within me. AMEIN!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who paints the sky with the most beautiful sunrises, and sunsets, that I could ever imagine. Your color palette, ABBA, is amazing, and as I watch the progression of each event, I stand in awe of Your creation. Truly, You are “Ha El Osay Pele”, the Elohim Who Works Wonders! Amein!

Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given me the ability to READ. Thank You, ABBA, for all of the teachers I have had, instilling in me the importance of this gift. And thank You, my Father, for the added comprehension, of being able to understand what I read, when I read it. I gladly acknowledge that ALL wisdom, knowledge and understanding originates with You, and as my Rabbi, my Teacher, I continually thank You for all of amazing things You reveal to me through the written Word! Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who invites me to come, and BE with You. You provide for me a place of security and rest, a calm haven from the storms of life. You are my Father; I am Your child. It is to You that I run, not for what is in Your hand, but because of what comes from Your heart. I love You, adore You, my ABBA, and I thank You for WHO You are. Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is instructing me about the extent of ‘evil’. Within the concept of ‘evil’, I find references to rebellion, wickedness, deception, adversity, and all that is not pleasing to You, my Creator. The opposite of ‘evil’ is good, and I know that to DO good I must follow Your Torah, Your instructions in moral and righteous living.  May my eyes, my hands, and my heart always follow hard after You. Amein.

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe. I thank You, my Father, for the ONE day I have each week, the Shabbat, when I can spend the day devoted to You, thanking You, and telling You how much I appreciate You for WHO You are. Yom Berekha

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is the Giver of LIGHT! When I watch the dawning of a new day, I meditate on the light that You spoke into existence, the sun to rule the day, and the moon for the night. Your Word tells me that light is a garment that You wear, and the day will come when I will no longer need the sun or moon for my light, for YOU, my “’Or Goyim”, Light of the Nations, will be my LIGHT. You are the Light of the world, and as long as I cling to You, believe in You, and keep my eyes focused on YOU, I will NEVER walk in darkness. I praise You, I honor You, and I give You thanks … Amein.
