Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for this place that I call ‘home’.  This is the place, the sanctuary, the refuge, that You have provided for me, and my family, during this season of my life.  Thank You, ABBA, for Your presence, Your shalom, Your security, within this dwelling place.  May You always be honored here, within these walls.  Amein.

A Memorial

And it was, when all the nation had completely crossed over the Jordan, YAHWEH spoke to Joshua, saying, Take twelve men for you out of the people, one man of each tribe.  And charge them, saying, Take twelve stones from this place, from the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the feet of the priests were fixed. And you shall carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place which you stay in it tonight.
And Joshua called to the twelve men whom he had readied from the sons of Israel, one man out of each tribe.  And Joshua said to them, Cross over before the ark of YAHWEH your Elohim to the middle of the Jordan, and each man of you lift up one stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel, that this shall be a sign among you, when your children ask hereafter, saying, What are these stones to you?  You shall say to them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of YAHWEH, as it crossed over int…

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who brings many things to remembrance, exactly when I need to know them.  You urge me, throughout Your Word, ‘to remember’, and when I see this admonition, I know that it is something important.  I remember the deeds of Yah, For I remember Your wonders of old.”  Help me, please, Father, to remember, to not ever forget, those things that are important.  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given me the ability to READ.  Thank You, ABBA, for all of the teachers I have had, instilling in me the importance of this gift.  And thank You, my Father, for the added comprehension, of being able to understand what I read, when I read it.  I gladly acknowledge that ALL wisdom, knowledge and understanding originates with You, and as my Rabbi, my Teacher, I continually thank You for all of amazing things You reveal to me through the written Word!  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who knew what You were about when You created the Sabbath.  Thank You, my Father, that for this time, I can lay all of the cares and concerns aside, and rest at Your feet.  Thank You, ABBA, for YOUR care and concern for me, as You invite me to come, and rest.  I come, my Master, I come.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is faithful to confirm to me when I have made a correct and right decision.  As I wait upon You, ABBA, I trust You to guide me, step by step, along the path that You have chosen for me to walk.  You are “YHWH, my Roeh”, God, my Shepherd.  Because of WHO You are, I know that You will lead me beside the still waters, and through the green pastures.  I listen for YOUR voice, ABBA, telling me, “THIS is the right way, walk in it.”

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is in the business of ‘character development’.  Through each trial, situation and circumstance, You are refining me, cutting away more of the excess baggage that is not conducive to my walk with You.  I thank You, my Father, that as I see more and more of the dross being stirred up, I KNOW that You are “perfecting all those things that concern me.”  Thank You, ABBA, that You will never leave me ‘half-baked’!  Hallelu-YAH

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continues to teach me how to “love my neighbor as I do myself.”  Thank You, my Father, for the individuals You bring into my life, to ‘test’ me in this area.  As I learn, sometimes repeatedly, how to place others before myself, I begin to reveal how I am an extension of YOUR hand, stretched out in the love You have for these humans You have created in Your image.  Help me, ABBA, to display Your “gentleness that has made me great”.  Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is my source, my provider, for all that I have need of.  From Your hand comes the food that I eat, the clothes that I wear, the home that I live in, and all of the many extras that You continue to bless me with.  Thank You, ABBA, for Your abundance that overflows on me … Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created IN me the sense of taste.  Thank You, my Father, for the sweet taste of honey, the bitter taste of lemons, the cold taste of ice cream, and the warmth of hot chocolate.  And this includes all of my personal likes and dislikes – it is amazing, ABBA, that my mouth is able to register all of these different sensations!  Thank You, my awesome Creator!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has greatly enriched my life through the people that are a part of my world.  From the postal worker to the beautician, from the grocery clerk to the garbage collector, all of these individuals are treasures within themselves.  Thank You, my Father, for each one, and for the valuable lessons they teach me.  May Your blessings rain upon each one of them.  Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created ONE day out of seven to be YOUR day, “kadosh” and set-apart.  Thank You, ABBA, for the Shabbat, where we can focus completely on improving our relationship with You.  Thank You for the rest and refreshing that comes from spending the day with You, charging our ‘batteries’ to face the coming week.  I honor You, the “El Chaiyai”, the Elohim of MY life, for all that You do … AMEIN!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  You have graciously provided for me the ability to communicate, first with You, my Father, and then with others in my immediate environment.  I communicate primarily with my voice, but I also use my hands, my eyes, facial expressions, and let me not forget the written word!  So many different methods of communication, ABBA, and You are the Creator of them all.  To say ‘thank you’ seems almost mundane …

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created the birds of the air, ranging from the mighty eagle, to the dainty hummingbird.  Thank You, my Father, for all of these winged creatures that are such a delight to watch, as they go about their day, lacking nothing.  And thank You, ABBA, for the lesson learned from the feathered world:  “…they neither sow nor reap nor gather into storehouses, yet my heavenly Father does feed them.  Am I not worth more than they?”

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created mankind with the ability to lie down, and sleep.  I am grateful, my Father, that because I dwell in Your peace and security, I can sleep soundly, without fear and interruption.  You have promised me, in Your Word, that I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for You alone, O YAHWEH, make me dwell in safety.”  Thank You, ABBA, that as I sleep, I have no anxiety about tomorrow, for I KNOW that You are already there.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who gives us water to quench our thirst.  The satisfying taste of a long, tall, c-o-o-l drink of water in the middle of a hot, dry, afternoon is one which has no equal, one to which we say, “Aaaaaah!”  Water is such a precious commodity, and yet we frequently take it for granted.  Thank You, ABBA, for the sweet, clean taste of water, for filling our thirst when we are dry, and keeping us moist with Your tender care!  Amen and amen!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has generously given to me the freedom of CHOICE.  You have never wanted robots, or slaves, to do Your will, but You desire children, YOUR children, to love You freely and openly.  You rejoice over obedience given from a loving and joyful heart, all springing from that freedom of choice.  I CHOOSE this day, whom I will love and serve:  “Elohei Kedem”, the Eternal God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  I joyfully bow my knee to You, YWVH Elohim, and our Messiah King, Yeshua HaMashiach!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created the ability to LAUGH.  Thank You, my Father, for the well of laughter that bubbles from deep inside my being, overflowing to all around me.  And thank You, ABBA, for the ability to laugh at myself, at some of the downright silly things I have done and said.  You tell me that laughter is good for me, for A cheerful heart is good medicine!”  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my King, for the Shabbat, this set-apart day, when I can lay the week aside, and spend my time with You.  I choose, this day, to “enter into Your gates with thanksgiving, and come into Your courts with praise”.  I choose “be thankful to You, and to bless Your Name”.  And I thank You, my Father, that “You are good; Your mercy is everlasting, and Your faithfulness is to generation and generation”.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Today, my Father, I just want to say “thank You” for everything You have done: for me, to me, in me, and through me.  I am continually amazed at the evidence of Your work in my life.  The saying proves true: sometimes I need to look in the rearview mirror to see how far I have really come.  Help me, ABBA, to continue to run this race with endurance, always looking to YOU, my Creator, who is the author and perfecter of my ‘emunah’, my faith.  Amein …

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has provided for me LIBERTY, a freedom from bondage, and a release from slavery.  I give You thanks, my Deliverer and Redeemer, for this freedom that I can only find IN and THROUGH You.  Thank You, ABBA, as You are teaching me that liberty is not necessarily independence; true liberty is total dependence upon YOU, my Creator and King.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has breathed into me the very breath of life.  Thank You, Father, for the ability to draw breath, to feel the rise and fall of my chest as I pull the air into my lungs.  And I thank You, my ABBA, that with each breath I take, I am one breath closer to walking with You!  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has blessed me with the ability to hear.  To be able to hear the multitude of different sounds that You have created – from the whisper of a gentle breeze in the tree tops, to the roaring thunder of the majestic Niagara Falls – I give You thanks, YAH, for this gift.  Hearing, I hear Your voice, the still, small voice with which You lead and guide me.  Thank You, ABBA, for all of Your words of love and encouragement – words that I treasure and keep close to my heart. May I always be like the young Samuel, and respond with:
“Speak, for Your servant hears.”

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is my source of confident hope for ALL of my tomorrows.  Because I know Your Word, Your TORAH, is true, because I know that You are not a man that lies, and because I know that You are faithful, I trust YOU, absolutely and implicitly.  You are my example and definition of integrity.  I know, that as sure as the sun will rise in the east, my El Hanne’ eman, my God, the Faithful God, is my hope for tomorrow.  And because of this, I can face each new day with a calm expectancy, knowing that YOU are in complete control!  Hallelu-YAH!  Our God reigns!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who set me within my OWN specific family, a blessing all by itself.  I have learned from the previous generation, and I am attempting to teach those that are coming after me, my children and grandchildren, to show them YOUR way in which to walk.  And I thank You for each member of our extended family, ABBA, for they all are special.  I thank YOU, my Master, that as I hold them up before You, You watch over Your Word to perform it, not willing that any should perish, but that ALL should come in to the Shepherd’s fold, as they come to know You for themselves.  I honor You, and I worship You, Father, for who You are, the “El Hanne’eman”, the Faithful God!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are YOU, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  ABBA, I very much appreciate the Shabbat, the day You created and sanctified.  It is a time in space when I can rest, turn away from all of the pressures of living, and spend time with You, my Creator and soon coming King.  I delight in Your Shabbat, and I thank You, my Father, for this precious time … Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who teaches me the importance of tasting my words BEFORE I speak.  Thank You, ABBA, for the classroom of the Ruach haKodesh, the Holy Spirit, as it is revealed to me the power of the spoken word.  May all my words be words of LIFE, words that edify and bring encouragement, words that heal and comfort, words that echo the Father’s love.  Let no corrupt and evil speech issue from my lips, but only what is pleasing to You, “Adonai Elohai Kedosi”, the Lord, my HOLY God.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continually reassures me that YOU are the only one who can be trusted.  When I am gripped with fear, standing with knees knocking and heart racing, You are there, the “Ha El Hanne’ Azreni Chayil”, the El Who girds me with strength.  Thank You, my Father, for the many promises in Your Word, promises that mean I will never stand alone, for You are always with me.  And I thank You, ABBA, for the many, many times that You have proven to me that You CAN be trusted, that You are true to Your Word.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who orders my steps, one step at a time, one by one.  You bring calm out of chaos, peace out of panic, and a sense of direction from total disaster.  You are the ‘El Roi’, the God Who SEES, and to know that Your eyes are fixed upon me, caring for me, is beyond my comprehension.  “Who is like unto Thee, O LORD, among the mighty? Who is like unto Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?”  There is NO ONE, no one like our YAH, no one like our ABBA Father.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who rules and reigns eternally.  Your kingdom extends to every corner of the universe that You have created for YOUR honor and glory, a glory which cannot be contained.  To stand in Your ‘shekinah’, Your glorious presence, is not possible, yet You invite me to come boldly to Your throne of grace.  Once there, I am able to drink deeply of Your favor and mercy, the mercy that is fresh and new EVERY morning.  How wondrous is Your dwelling place, Lord, and how exciting to be in Your presence!

Your Daily Slice

Offended
“If, then, you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother holds whatever against you,  leave your gift there before the altar, and GO, FIRST make peace with your brother, and THEN come and offer your gift..” (Matthew 5:23-24 ISR, emphasis mine)
"Moreover, if your brother commits a sin AGAINST you, GO and show him his fault — BUT PRIVATELY, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother.”  (Matthew 18:15 CJB, emphasis mine)

In Matthew 15:12, the Greek word that has been translated ‘offended is the word ‘skandalizō’ (Strong’s #G4624), and it is ‘kin’ to the root of OUR words ‘scandal’ and ‘scandalize’.  The meaning to this word paints a picture of a trap, or snare, hidden in a type of ambush, such as a pit covered by limbs or tree branches.  ‘Skandalizō’ will generally refer to the conduct, or actions, of the person who is ambushed, or trapped.  Messiah Yeshua told us emphatically that offenses would come (see Matthe…

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who forgives me when I come to You, acknowledging and turning away from the SIN, the disobedience to Torah, that I have committed.  Because of my act of “teshuva”, and because of the blood of Messiah Yeshua, I can once again stand cleansed before You, once again in right relationship with my ABBA Father, and I am thankful, so thankful.  Continue to search my heart, YAH, lest there be anything that is displeasing in Your sight; let my heart be found pure and pleasing to You.  My one desire is to dwell in Your house forever … AMEIN!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who fills my mouth with YOUR words.  You bring to remembrance, from Your Word, that which pertains to any and every situation I find myself in, continually guiding me along the way.  For it is YOUR Word that sets the captive free, and it is the entrance of YOUR Word that brings light and LIFE!  Thank You, Adon, Master, that Your Word never changes, but it is eternally, permanently fixed!  Hallelu-YAH!
