Much is made of the parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:23-35) being a lesson on unforgiveness, and of the inherent dangers in not freely offering up forgiveness toward others.  There is, however, another lesson ABBA Father has shown me from this parable.
In the verses of Matthew chapter 18, we find a MASTER who decides to bring all of his accounts up to date.  During this process, the Master realizes that he has a servant owing an ‘enormous’ amount of money.  When this servant is confronted and challenged about his debt, he begs for clemency, and for the opportunity to pay it off (even though the amount in question would probably take several life-times to repay).  Moved by compassion, the Master cancels the entire debt.
Is this servant/borrower ‘repentant’ over his debt?  Is there a shame at having taken such advantage of his Master’s generosity?  He is obviously sorry he has been caught, that the Master HAS called the debt due and payable, because initially, he thought t…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who forgives me of ALL of my sins, transgressions, and iniquities.  I run to You, broken, in repentance for what I have done, for I have sinned against YOU, my Creator and Father.  I recognize, acknowledge, and confess my wrong-doings, and You not only forgive me, but You NEVER remember ANY of my sins again!  Oh, my ABBA, my Father!  I understand that all of this is possible because of the shed blood of my sinless Messiah King, Yeshua of Nazareth, the One who died in my place, in order that I might be restored to a right relationship with YOU.  “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.”  Hallelu-YAH!

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who rested on the seventh day, blessed it, and sanctified it.  We delight in YOU, this Sabbath day, we honor and give praise to You, our Elohim and our Creator, and we thank You for all that You give us to enjoy.  May we be a blessing to You, “Elohim Avinu”, God our Father, in all that we say and do … in the Name that is above all names we pray, Yeshua of Nazareth, AMEIN!

Not Our Own

“… Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking …” (1Corinthians 13:5 Amp)

Many political, social, and economical organizations worldwide have their foundations from biblical principals; humanitarian injustices, with the United Nations as “watch-dog”, SHOULD not be tolerated, and should be brought under scrutiny.  The United States, in past decades, has been an example of democracy and equal rights, and the American Civil War was fought for just that reason: an end to slavery, bringing freedom to approximately 4 million black slaves.
Our United States Constitution, including the Bill of Rights, was written - based upon biblical standards - to protect our individual rights from tyrannical and dictatorial control.  There are many that would say that our present government is trying to take these rights away from us; I am not here to discuss or debate this issue.  BECAUSE of these times that we are now living in, many have develop…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, king of the universe, whom I can never thank and praise enough.  For all that You do, to me, for me, in me, and through me, I give You thanks.  You continually anoint my head with fresh oil, Your mercy and loving-kindness is new to me EVERY morning, and You faithfully take me by the hand and lead me in the paths of righteousness for YOUR Name’s sake.  Who am I, that You are mindful of me?  You are the “Elohei Tehillati”, the God of my praise, and I choose to worship You.

A Thanksgiving Offering

“Always be joyful. Pray regularly. IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS, for this is what God wants from YOU who are united with the Messiah Yeshua.”  (1Thessalonians 5:16-18 CJB, emphasis mine)
For some years now, YHWH has been very quietly speaking to me about a continual offering of ‘thanksgiving’, an attitude, a frame of mind, a LIFESTYLE that reflects a heart filled with gratitude and thanks.  As we in America celebrate the day normally set aside as “Thanksgiving Day”, I perceive that YAH is challenging us to remember, and GIVE THANKS, for all that we are, all that we have, and all that we WILL have, through our Creator, Savior, and King, Yeshua the Messiah.
Traditionally, we celebrate “Thanksgiving” on the fourth Thursday of November, a day of “thanks” established by the early Pilgrim settlers.  But the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob established the offering of ‘thanksgiving’ and praise centuries ago, through a minstrel/king by the name of David.  When David brought the Ark of the Covenant…

“Therefore, faith is by the HEARING of the ear, and the hearing of the ear by the word of Eloah.”  (Romans 10:17 HRVS, emphasis mine)
“HEAR, O Israel: Yahweh our Elohim Yahweh is one:” (Deuteronomy 6:4 WOY, emphasis mine)

The “Sh’ma” is considered THE most important prayer to everyone of Jewish descent, having received its name from the first word of Deuteronomy 6:4: “Sh’ma”, which loosely translated, means “HEAR”.  I understand that this is recited twice daily, and is the first prayer that a young Jewish child learns.
But “Sh’ma” means more than “HEAR”; it means to hear, believe, and then to DO.  Simply ‘hearing’ the Word of Elohim, which includes the Torah, is not enough.  Included is the sense of careful, attentive listening, with the desire for obedient action.  We must be faithful DOERS of the Word that we hear; the Apostle Paul knew this well when he wrote the verse to the Romans quoted above, as did James, the brother to our Master Yeshua, as cited here from the book by his name:

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who not only gives me ears to hear with, but also gives me the ability to distinguish between many different sounds, and the distance between one sound and another.  From the nearness of a baby’s cry, to the far away dog barking over the hill, all of these sounds are distinct in their own way. Yet it is YOUR voice, YAH, that is the most precious sound of all – from the still, small sound, to the roar that is like many waters – Your voice, that strikes the chord within my heart.  Speak, YAH, for Your servant listens!

The Measure of LOVE

The ‘measure of love’ is love without any measurement.  Unconditional love cannot be measured by any standard of measurement known to natural man, for the natural mind cannot understand a love that has no conditions attached to it.  Only by the life of one man, THE man, Messiah Yeshua, can we begin to comprehend the depths of unconditional love.
“A renewed command I give to you, that you love one another, as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this shall all know that you are My taught ones, if you have love for one another.”  (John 13:34-35 ISR98)
“Little children, let us stop just saying we love people; let us really love them, and SHOW IT BY OUR ACTIONS.” (1John 3:18 TLB, emphasis mine)
Unconditional love has no strings attached to it; it is a picture of giving without expecting anything in return, and it is totally self-less in its giving.  It is a challenge to walk FULL of YHWH’s love toward that “particular someone” (who may not be the easiest person for us to be …

Daily Blessing

Blessed are YOU, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who gives, gives, GIVES. Your Word teaches us that You give food and sustenance to all living creatures, that You give us our bread continually. What an amazing, loving ABBA Father we have, and what an example we have to follow: You gave us Your Son, our Messiah King, Yeshua of Nazareth! Thank You, our “ElohimAvinu”, God our Father, for all You have done, and continue to do, as You meet all of our needs in great abundance.  ABBA, we love You, we worship YOU …

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is the definition and example of LOVE.  We look to You, our God and Creator, who loves us IN SPITE of all the situations and circumstances we find ourselves in.  Even when we didn’t know who You were, You STILL loved us enough to die for us, to suffer a death more horrible than most of us can imagine.  And You love us SO much that You are coming back for us, to gather ALL of Your people together, to honor and worship YOU, our Messiah KING!  Oh, glorious day!  Hallelu-YAH!

When Right and Truth Prevail

“{LOVE}…does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.”1 Corinthians 13:6 Amp, insert mine)

The Book of Esther relates to us the story of the near annihilation of the Jewish people, brought about by one man:  Haman, a descendant of Agag, the Amalekite King, who indirectly began the downward spiral that resulted in King Saul’s loss of the throne of Israel (see 1Samuel 15).  Because of this Haman’s hatred for the man Mordecai, and for ALL the Jewish people, he plots to have all of the Jews killed.  Queen Esther calls upon her Jewish brethren to join her in a time of fasting and prayer, after which she approaches the King to reveal Haman’s wicked plot.  The tables turn on Haman, and “righteousness and truth prevail” (Esther 7).
Truth and righteousness begin with our “El Emet”, the God of truth (John 1:17; Psalm 31:5; Psalm 33:5).  Because Messiah Yeshua is “THE way, THE truth, and THE life” (John 14:6), truth means victory, when we walk in H…

“There is nothing covered up that will not be UNCOVERED, or hidden that will not BECOME KNOWN.  What you have spoken in the dark will be HEARD in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be PROCLAIMED on the housetops.”  (Luke 12:2-3 CJB, emphasis mine)

The island I was raised on in the Caribbean is home to the first underwater National Park ever created by the U.S. National Park Service.  In the clear water of the Caribbean Sea, there are underwater trails marked for both the advanced scuba diver, and the leisurely snorkeler to enjoy, all the time watching a brilliant display of tropical fish in their natural habitat.  To the less brave at heart, and for those who are not aquatically inclined, there is also a glass-bottomed boat through which you are able to view many of the park’s features, without having to get wet.  All of it is an adventure that is not soon forgotten.
As a young child growing up, the ‘transparency’ of the glass-bottomed boat was a phenomenon …

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created and established the changing seasons, seedtime and harvest, winter and summer, for YOUR eternal purpose.  We thank You, Elohim, for in Your wisdom You established a principal that never changes.  We stand in awe of each season, in its own individual beauty and glory, and the bounty that it brings.  And we are humbled, forever grateful, for the covenant that we have with YOU, the “Adon Kol-ha’arets”, the Lord of ALL the Earth, the covenant that tells us: “So long as the earth exists, sowing time and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night will not cease."   ABBA, Father, how we love You!

Wake-up Call

The terrorist attacks in Paris over this past weekend were an ‘eye-opener’ for many people; to some, they were merely a confirmation of probabilities that would happen.  For us, here in the United State, it certainly portrays a picture of where we, as a nation, are in all likelihood headed.
First, most of the European nations are now gun-free – very few individuals are allowed to own any type of firearm.  And this is exactly where our American leaders in government would like “We, the people” to be as well.  These last few years, with the increase of gun-related crimes, has also seen an increase in the agenda of rigorous gun control legislation.  So far, it hasn’t happened.  Yet, I would have to ask, how many of us have informed our senators and congress people of how we feel concerning this type of legislation? I have not done so; however, it is an oversight that I intend to correct ASAP.
Second, this country has an immigration policy that is nothing but chaotic.  We face an administra…

I Will Love YOU

"And he said: I love YOU, O YHWH, my strength.  YHWH is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my El, my rock, in HIM I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower."  (Psalm 18:1-2 HRVS, emphasis mine)

I CHOOSE to love YOU, my Elohim, my Lord, my Master.  I choose to walk in obedience to You, to walk in fellowship with You, to take up permanent residence in the holy shelter of Your wings (Psalm 91:1-4).  I choose to believe what Your Word tells me, not what my ears hear, or what my eyes see (1Peter 1:25; 2Corinthians 5:7).  I choose to stand firm upon the Rock of my Salvation (Psalm 89:26), and I choose to clasp the hand of my Father as He leads me the paths of righteousness for HIS Name's sake (Psalm 23:3).  AMEIN, so be it.

Which God?

“I and the Father are ONE.” (John 10:30 Amp, emphasis mine)

Some years ago, there was a post made here on FaceBook by a young lady that professed AND confessed an intimate relationship with Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth, Son of the Living Elohim.  The comment was, basically, that her writings and teachings are not “centered and based on the WORD of God – they are centered on God Himself.”  This same young lady now labels herself a “prophetess” – but whose oracle is she prophesying?
Every structure MUST have a solid firm, foundation; this is a Biblical principal (Luke 6:48).  Even our Bible is build upon the foundation of the TORAH; in the 3500 some years since it was given, TORAH still stands as strong as it ever did.  When we do not center and base ALL of our beliefs on the WORD of YHWH (both the written and the Living), then we do not have the Bible as our anchor. When we separate the Written WORD from the Living WORD (see John 1:1-4; 14; 1John 1:1), then we also separate Yeshua.  When w…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who invites us to come, and BE with You.  You never force us; You invite us, but with the invitation is the promise of a loving welcome, and fellowship like no other.  You provide for us a place of security and rest, a calm haven from the storms of life.  You are our Father; we are Your children.  It is to You that we run, not for what is in Your hand, but because of what comes from Your heart.  We love You, adore You, our ABBA, and we thank You for WHO You are.

Watch that you do not refuse the One speaking; for if these did not escape, who refused Him who divinely warned them on earth, how much more shall we not, if we refuse to hear him who speaks with us from heaven? whose voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once, I will shake NOT ONLY the earth, but also the heavens." (Hag. 2:6)
“Now the words "Yet once" make clear the removal of the things being shaken, as having been made, so that the things NOT BEING SHAKEN may remain. For this reason, receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us have grace, by which we may serve YAHWEH pleasingly, with reverence and awe; for also, "Our Elohim is a consuming fire."(Hebrews 12:25-29 HRB, emphasis mine)

YHWH Elohim is shaking, SHAKING, SHAKING.  He will no longer allow us to continue to sit on the porch swing, idly watching the world go by.  Our ‘comfort zone’, the place we have made for ourselves, in our ‘religious’ circles’, with our ‘hell-fire insu…

Patient and Kind

“Love … is patient AND kind …”(1Corinthians 13:4 Amp, emphasis mine)

In the ninth chapter of Luke, we find Messiah Yeshua reprimanding His disciples.  “All power and authority”had been given to them (Luke 9:1); however, their desire was to abuse this HOLY “authority and power”.  Yeshua was not trying to tame their boldness – which, in itself was good – but found their motives, and the attitude of their hearts, completely in the wrong.  “IM-patient”and offended with the rejection that had been given them by a particular Samaritan town, the disciples wanted to call fire down from heaven, destroy the town, AND everyone in it (see Luke 9:51-56).
People who are impatient in their nature are, as a rule, selfish and self-centered.  They are on their OWN agenda, and have little time for the needs, wants and desires of others, unless it should coincide with their own.  Their love is turned inward, towards themselves, and they naturally expect, and will even demand, everyone to be patient and kin…

CORRECT Corection

“Let not any hateful word come out of your mouth, but that which is pleasing and useful for edification, that you may give favor to those who hear.  And do not grieve the Ruach HaKodesh of Eloah, by whom you are sealed until the day of redemption.” (Ephesians 4:29-30, HRVS)

“The good man brings forth what is good out of the good treasure of his heart, and the wicked man brings forth what is wicked out of the wicked treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6:45, ISR)

My (natural) dad had the ‘art’ of diplomacy ‘fined tuned’ to perfection; he knew WHAT to say, HOW to say it, and did so in such a way that it never caused offence.  I would receive, from him, correction in just such a manner.  It was not unusual for it to be days later before I realized that I had been corrected and disciplined, my direction turned around to a different path, and away from the doorway of destruction.  And it was not necessarily the WORDS themselves that my dad used…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who firmly, but gently, pulls us back when we wander into the path of self-exaltation.  Thank You, ABBA, for those checks and yellow lights when we get too full of ourselves.  Help us remember, by the leading of the Ruach, the Set-Apart Spirit, that we must decrease, in order that YOU, the “Elohim Chayim”, the LIVING God, may increase.  May we never forget that we live to give You glory, to exalt and honor YOU.

The Adversary

“You were running the race nobly. Who has interfered in (HINDERED and stopped you from) your heeding and following the Truth?” (Galatians 5:7 Amp, emphasis mine)

Satanic activity going on IN and AROUND our lives can also create an obstruction, or hindrance, in our being able to clearly hear from our Creator.  The adversary will do everything that he can to stop us from hearing ANY instructions and directions that YHWH is trying to give us, concerning our walk with HIM.  If he is not successful in completely stopping us from hearing, he will try to pervert and distort our hearing, so that what we DO hear is faulty, twisted, and wrong.  It is possible for this type of activity to come from within congregations of believers, with what the Word of God calls “various and strange doctrines” (Hebrews 13:9).
But the Spirit distinctly says that in latter times some shall FALL AWAY from the belief, PAYING ATTENTION TO MISLEADING SPIRITS, and teachings of demons, spe…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continually intercedes on our behalf in the heavenly courtroom.  You, ABBA, not only save those who come to You, trusting, but You are also actively intervening on our behalf against the accusations brought against us by our adversary, haSatan.  We thank You, our Messiah King, for Your favor, the favor by which we stand secure in Your love, forgiven and cleansed by Your blood.  We thank You for the Throne of Grace, to which we can come, through You, as You lead us into the Father’s presence.  We worship YOU, our “Melekh Hakavod”, our King of Glory, and continually give You praise!

Too Many Counselors

You were running the race nobly. Who has interfered in (HINDERED and stopped you from) your heeding and following the Truth?”(Galatians 5:7 Amp, emphasis mine)

We have been examining different elements and choices that will ultimately hinder and block us from hearing our Elohim.  Without clear direction and instruction from the Ruach, the set-apart Spirit of YHWH, we would be lost in a maze of our own making.
It is unfortunate that people, well meaning and often godly people, can provide a distortion in our listening ability when it comes to hearing what our Creator intends for US to hear.  We MUST be careful who we listen to.  Talk is cheap, and advice and opinions are a dime a dozen.
In 1Kings, chapter 22, 400 men, calling themselves ‘prophets’, were in agreement that the kings of Israel and Judah were to go to war together against Syria.  However, when ONE prophet of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob was brought in, God spoke death to the King of Is…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who gives me sound counsel according to the path that YOU have chosen for me to walk upon.  I thank You, ABBA, that You choose to confirm Your word to me in many ways, but always lining up with Your Torah, with Your Living Word.  The Word of my YAH is the final authority – this IS the way, and I will walk IN it – for it shines the LIGHT of truth on every step I take …

HINDRANCES TO HEARINGPart 3 “You were running the race nobly. Who has interfered in (HINDERED and stopped you from) your heeding and following the Truth?” (Galatians 5:7 Amp, emphasis mine)

Disobedience to the Word of YHWH will damage and deteriorate our ability to HEAR the direction of our God. This is an extremely serious offense in the eyes of YHWH Elohim.  Disobedience and rebellion are the reasons the nation of Israel went into exile (see Deuteronomy 28:62-65; Jeremiah 16:10-13); from their example we can see the cost it brings to our relationship with our God and Creator.
The prefix ‘DIS’is of Latin origin, and implies a separation, or a parting from.  The word, ‘obey’, means “to comply with the commands, orders or instructions of a superior, or with the requirements of law, moral, political or municipal” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).  When we join the two words (DIS-obey), and use them to describe the behavior of an individual, we have someone…
