Who May Stand?

“Who shall ascend into the mountain of YHWH? And who shall stand in His set-apart place? He that has clean hands, and a pure heart; who has not taken My name in vain, and has not sworn deceitfully.  He shall receive a blessing from YHWH, and righteousness from the Elohim of his salvation.”  (Psalm 24:3-5 HRVS)

Coming into the presence of the Creator of this universe is not something to be taken lightly, or casually.  Yes, He is our God and Father, and yes, as our Father, He loves us.  But not only is YHWH ‘love’, He is also JUST and RIGHTEOUS, and it is BECAUSE of this combination of ‘love/righteousness’ that our ABBA Father cannot look upon sin.  What is sinSin is, basically, turning away from, and no longer keeping, the commandments, the Torah, of our Elohim (see Romans 6:12-14; 1John 3:4).
It is through our faith in everything Messiah Yeshua of Nazareth did for us - His death, burial, and resurrection – that we can KNOW when we repent, do ‘teshuva’, of our wrong-doings, we will r…

Your Praise

“As is Your Name, O Elohim, so is YOUR PRAISE unto the ends of the earth …” (Psalm 48:10 HRVS, emphasis mine)
“Through Him, therefore, let us constantly and AT ALL TIMES offer up to God a SACRIFICE OF PRAISE, which is the fruit of lips that thankfully acknowledge and confess and glorify HIS NAME.(Hebrews 13:15 Amp, emphasis mine)

Praise is confessing, admitting and declaring BACK TO YHWH who and what HE is; it is an act of recognition, and thanksgiving. We acknowledge Him as being our PERSONAL God and Father.  However, we don’t end our relationship with our YAH on those ‘notes’, He is also much more:  He is our ‘Adonai’, our Lord and Master, our Creator and Deliverer, our Savior, our Redeemer and Prince of Peace, our Beginning and our End.  WE were created to be vessels of praise to our God, and by His praises being continually in our mouths (Psalm 34:1; 71:6), we are giving glory to Him.  Praise is a commandment, it is not a choice; it is NOT something to do when we “feel” like it. “As is Your NAME, O Elohim …”  (Psalm 48:10 HRVS, emphasis mine)

Your ‘name’ is what people know you by; it is the stamp that makes you YOU.  However, there are many other titles that can be added to a person’s name; we still find royalty in various countries of the world, where there are Princes and Princesses, Dukes and Duchesses, Lords and Ladies.  It does not change the original name, it only adds to it.
Often, adjectives have been added to the names of persons of history.  For example, in Russia’s history we have “Ivan the Terrible”, and “Catherine the Great”.  In France’s long reign we find the “Spider King”, and from Great Britain, we must include “Richard the Lionhearted”, and Edward Longshanks”.
The NAME of our God stands forever (Psalm 135:13), and it is the NAME above ALL names (Philippians 2:9).  There is healing in the NAME(Acts 3:16; 4:30).  There is freedom in the NAME(John 8:36).  There is peace in the NAME(John 14:27).  There is joy in the NAME(1Peter 1:8).  There is tot…

False Witness

“You shall not witness falsely against your neighbor.”  (Exodus 20:16 Amp)

Noah Webster defines ‘witness’ as “a person who knows or sees ANY thing; one {who is} PERSONALLY PRESENT; to see or KNOW by personal presence” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828, emphasis and insert mine).  Therefore, a ‘false’ witness is basically one who says that they ‘saw’ (or heard), this or that, when in reality, they NEVER did.
YHWH Elohim brought this truth home to me about ten years ago.  My husband and I had company one afternoon, a couple of whom we are very fond of.  Both had been ‘grievously’ wounded in a church situation, were still healing from all of the back-lash, and had not progressed past discussing it.  The wife made the comment: “I KNOW they are talking trash about me”.
I was uncomfortable and unsettled concerning the conversation.  When I went to my prayer closet, to talk it over with ABBA, He showed me where my friend was giving ‘false witness’, REGARDLESS of w…

“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and have [already] defeated AND overcome them [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives IN YOU is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world. (1John 4:4 Amp, emphasis mine)

YHWH does not ‘hand out’ to us overcoming life when we recognize and receive Yeshua as our Master and Messiah; He gives us life AS we overcome the trials and tribulations that we walk through.  There has to be something for us to overcome before we can be successful overcomers.  We will never have a testimony without first passing a test, regardless of whether we like the testing ground or not.
And they OVERCAME him through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their witness; AND loving not their lives they freely gave themselves up to death …” (Revelation 12:11 BBE, emphasis mine)
“And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing IF we don’t get discouraged AND GIVE UP.” (Galatians 6:9 TLB, emp…

Clanging Noise

“If I speak with the tongues of men and of messengers, but DO NOT HAVE LOVE, I have become as sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.” (1Corinthians 13:1 ISR, emphasis mine)

Our Creator is not against us learning new and multiple languages; this would be a skill much needed if we are to communicate the GOOD NEWS of Messiah Yeshua to a lost and dying world.  What He IS against is the attitude with which it is done – If “ME, MYSELF AND Ispeak in the different tongues.  Our gifts and talents are given to us by our Elohim; they are to bring glory to HIM, and not to us.  Any righteousness we have is because of our standing IN Yeshua, and because HE is our righteousness.
“….you are united with the Messiah Yeshua. He has become wisdom FOR US FROM GOD, and RIGHTEOUSNESS and holiness and redemption as well!” (1Corinthians 1:30 CJB, emphasis mine)
When we speak from the platform of self-exaltation, it is always off-key, and never harmonious.  Most of us can take a moment and think of at least one pe…

Our Hiding Place

“He COVERS YOU with His feathers, and UNDER His wings you take refuge ...” (Psalm 91:4 ISR, emphasis mine)

Most infants and toddlers have their ‘special’ blankets, that to them, represent security and safety.  Some adults have special places which offer peace, security, safety, and a sense of home and belonging.  For those of us that have willingly entered into the kingdom of YHWH Elohim, our security lies in a PERSON, and HIS Name is Yeshua - our Messiah, our Prince of Peace, and our soon coming King.  It is to HIM that we run with our feelings of insecurity, with our fears, our doubts, our weaknesses, our failings, and even our loneliness, and it is under the shadow of HIS wings that we are restored.
How precious is YOUR mercy, O Elohim! And the sons of men take refuge in the shadow of YOUR wings. They shall be satisfied from the fatness of YOUR house; and YOU make them drink the torrent of YOUR pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in YOUR light we see light.  (Psalm 36:…

To Cleave

“But ye that did CLEAVE unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.”  (Deuteronomy 4:4 KJV, emphasis mine)
“But all of you who are CLINGING to the LORD your God are alive today.”  (Deuteronomy 4:4 ISV, emphasis mine)

Memory foam is a fascinating substance.  I can still remember purchasing my first memory foam pillow.  I would watch in amazement the indentation of my handprint, when I continuously pressed my open hand in different places on the pillow.  How the foam would mold itself to the shape of my hand was a source of wonder to me, and it still is.  Amazing invention, this memory foam.
In a sense, WE are to be like this ‘memory foam’, molding and shaping ourselves around the person and character of our Elohim.  The word translated in our opening verse into the word ‘cleave,’ is related to the Hebrew word “dābaq” (Strong’s #H1692), which is the word found in Genesis 2:24, speaking of the ‘joining together’ (cleaving) of Adam and Eve.  Just as Adam is to ‘cleave’to his …

And Yeshua grew in his stature and in his wisdom and in FAVOR with Eloah and men.(Luke 2:52 HRV, emphasis mine)
Let not kindness and truth forsake you – Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, thus finding FAVOR and good insight In the eyes of Elohim and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4 The Scriptures [ISR], emphasis mine)

Most of us have been taught that friendship with the world means being in opposition and an enemy to YHWH (see James 4:4), and to some extent, this is correct.  However, ‘favor’ is something completely different from friendship.  The Hebrew word that has been translated as grace, or favor, is the word “chên” (Strong’s #H2580), and also means acceptance, and approval.  Noah Webster also defines favor as:  “to regard with kindness; to support; to aid or have the disposition to aid; to wish success to; to befriend; to encourage; to be merciful to” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).
Favor with ABBA Father is evident ever…

More Oil

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’ But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say t…

Bearing Up

“Love bears up under anything and everything that comes …” (1Corinthians 13:7 Amp)

It is an acknowledged fact that Rabbi Sha’ul (the Apostle Paul), a Jewish Pharisee, was responsible for writing more than half of the ‘Brit Chadashah’ (New Testament) of YHWH’s Word.  Sha’ul considered himself the “Apostle to the Gentiles” (Romans 11:13), and it is through his commitment to this calling that the Word of YHWH was taught to those not of the ‘nation’ of Israel.  Because of Sha’ul, we who are now born-again (through the finished work of our Messiah King, Yeshua of Nazareth) have been grafted in (see Romans 11:16-18) to the ‘kingdom’ of Israel, the spiritual kingdom of our ABBA Father.
The Rabbi’s road was not an easy one, and it is possible the Lord revealed to him, in part, that it would be difficult.  Sha’ul lists for us some of the physical hardships that he went through in 2Corinthians 11:23-27, a list that I am sure that none of us would want to participate in.  And yet, his greatest con…

A Firm Foundation

“Why do you call Me, 'Lord! Lord!' but not do what I say? Everyone who comes to Me, hears my words and acts on them — I will show you what he is like: he is like someone building a house who DUG DEEP AND LAID THE FOUNDATION ON BEDROCK. When a flood came, the torrent beat against that house but couldn't shake it, because it was CONSTRUCTED WELL. And whoever hears My words but doesn't act on them is like someone who built his house on the ground WITHOUT ANY FOUNDATION. As soon as the river struck it, it COLLAPSED and that house became a HORRENDOUS WRECK!"  (Luke 6:46-49 CJB, emphasis mine)
Messiah Yeshua is painting a picture in these verses of someone who planned well in building a home, knowing that the ‘foundation’ of the structure is the most important part of the building.  Without a solid, firm, square foundation, you do not have a building.  When asking the advice of any building contractor, we would receive the same answer:  our Adonai is completely correct.
