“They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather GOSSIP, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere.”(Psalm 41:6 NLT)

A few years ago, my husband and I found ourselves involved in a situation that we had not wanted to be a part of, a situation that did irreparable harm to a couple that were, at that time, close friends of ours.It was a situation all caused by ‘gossip’, and fueled by a minister of a local congregation.Beloved, this is a situation that ought NEVER to be.
How many of us – in all honesty – have started a conversation with the words, “Have you talked to (or seen) so-and-so lately?”Or what about, “Have you heard what’s happened to what’s his name?”Brothers and sisters, beware of people trying to ‘pump’ you for information. Our HOLY Father knows who He can trust with what He chooses to reveal, and He knows who will go straight to the prayer closet with what He reveals to them.If we, as children of “EloheiMikkarov”, the God who is near (see Jeremiah 2…

Healthy Eating Habits

“I don't withdraw from His lips' command; I treasure His words MORE THAN my daily food.” (Job 23:12 CJB, emphasis mine)

Americans, as a majority, are known for unsound eating habits and questionable diets. The term ‘junk food junkie’ originated in the United States, which is also home to the many varieties of so called ‘junk food’.It is no small wonder that of the healthproblems millions of Americans suffer from, many are weight and diet related. We simply do not eat healthy diets, and it is a ‘discipline’, unfortunately, that many of us have forgotten. As I write this, please do not feel that I am pointing fingers at anyone in particular.ABBA Father is dealing with ME first, concerning my physical diet.
We cannot afford to forget this discipline in the spiritual realm, either. We are what we eat, both in the natural, and in the spiritual. If we choose to consume a high calorie, high carbohydrate diet of ‘junk food’, then we must expect to pay the penalty for it.The same principal ap…

“Therefore, my dear friends, since we have these promises, let US purify OURSELVES from everything that can defile either body or spirit, and strive to be completely HOLY, out of reverence for God.”(2Corinthians 7:1 CJB, emphasis mine)

According to the Word of God, it is OURresponsibilityto purify ourselves from those things that contaminate, infect, defile, and pull us away from a good conscience and sincere faith (1Timothy 1:5).‘Holiness’ is not only a goal to strive for; it is also a prerequisite for citizenship in the heavenly Jerusalem, the future kingdom of Messiah Y’shua.
“… PURSUE that consecration and HOLINESS without which no one will [ever] see the Lord.”(Hebrews 12:14 Amp, emphasis mine)
Holiness is best explained as a purity of heart (Matthew 5:8), but it is also revealed in sincere and total OBEDIENCE toward YHWH, and His TORAH, His Word.It will also be seen in the integrity with which we handle our relationships involving other people.Holiness was never intended to be tota…

Hidden Secrets

“But there is a God in heaven who REVEALS SECRETS …” (Daniel 2:28 NLT, emphasis mine)

As a young child growing up, my Dad instilled in me a principle that has proven true many, many times: “If you are doing something that you have to hide, then it is probably something that you shouldn’t be doing at all.”Once we start hiding our actions, then lying to cover up what we have done, all we are doing is digging our own pit that we will eventually fall into (Psalm 7:15).Ultimately, the truth WILL come out, even if it is years down the road – we have YHWH’s Word on that …
“There is nothing covered up that will not be UNCOVERED, or hidden that will not BECOME KNOWN. What you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and what you have whispered behind closed doors will be proclaimed on the housetops.” (Luke 12:2-3 CJB)
What of secrets in our hearts, thoughts, feelings, attitudes that we do not want to admit to?Our hearts must be clear and transparent – like a glass-bottomed boat, reveal…

True or False

“If anyone should say to you then, behold the Messiah is here or there, do not believe it.For false Messiahs and lying prophets WILL arise and they WILL produce signs and great wonders in order to DECEIVE if possible even the chosenBehold, I have told you beforehand.”(Matthew 24:23-25 AENT, emphasis mine)

Y’shua warned us, while He was yet on this earth, that there would be a FALSE Christianity in the end times, a counterfeit, if you will.Noah Webster defines ‘counterfeit’ as: “that which is made in imitation of something with a view to defraud, BY PASSING THE FALSE FOR TRUE; assuming the appearance of something; not genuine”(American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).
To put thisinto other words, this so-called religion would have all of the APPEARANCE of the true Way, the walking AND living out of the TORAH-lifestyle.Only those who have “studied to show ourselves approved” (2Timothy 2:15), who are now TRAINED (such as bank tellers and cashiers are trained to reco…

And if I have PROPHETIC POWERS (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess ALL KNOWLEDGE, and if I have [sufficient] FAITH so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am NOTHING (a useless nobody).(1Corinthians 13:2 Amp, emphasis mine)

There is a story, found in Numbers chapters 22-24, of a man supposedly having ‘prophetic powers’, yet finding it impossible to curse YHWH’s people.Balaam tried; he had the promise of GREAT wealth and reputation held out to him as a reward, but he could not curse what YHWH had commanded him to bless.Solomon was a man that is known to have been the wisest man that has ever lived, one that possessed ‘all knowledge’, but in the words of his own mouth, all was ‘vanity’ (Ecclesiastes 1:2,14;2:19;12:8).And what IS ‘faith’?It is absolute confidence and total, complete trust, but only IN our God Himself (see Hebrews 11:6).

Centuries ago, the Greeks were people fam…

Anxious About Nothing

“DO NOT FRET OR HAVE ANY ANXIETY ABOUT ANYTHING, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 Amp, emphasis mine)

In the 1980’s, a video arcade game was introduced that made history: Pac-Man.Almost an overnight success, it is still popular today, and has many variations on the original theme that first came out almost 30 years ago.YHWH has used this little ‘critter’ to teach me several important lessons in my walk with Him, and I owe a ‘thank you’ to the inventor of Pac-Man for that reason.I want to share one of those lessons with you.
In THIS most memorable lesson, ‘anxiety’ is the name of this variation of Pac-Man played. It eats away, like corrosion, at one’s faith and trust in YHWH.The more that it feeds, the stronger it gets, until it reaches the place where there are no longer any of the ‘little dots’ left that represent faith in YAH, belief in His Word, and tr…

How GREAT is our YAH!

"You give me Your shield, which is salvation, Your right hand holds me up, Your humility makes me great.” (Psalm 18:35 CJB)

As with much of our YHWH’s Word, the richness of this verse is difficult to see until we look at the original Hebrew text.English translations have only skimmed the surface of what King David was trying to convey when he first wrote these words, thousands of years ago.
The word ‘shield’ used here is from the Hebrew word ‘māgēn’ (Strong’s #H4043), and metaphorically speaking, it refers to YHWH Himself as a shield, such as a shield of refuge (see Psalm 3:3; Psalm 18:2).David is acknowledging that YHWH Elohim has been his shield, and that he (David) humbly and willingly recognizes this.
This shield is ‘salvation’ – the word here is the Hebrew ‘yēshả’ (Strong’s #H3468), a derivative of the name “Yeshua”, the Hebrew name of our Savior. Therefore, the ‘shield’ that David is acknowledging, and recognizing, is Messiah Yeshua, or, as many have come to know Him, Jesus of …

“Love … is not boastful or vainglorious …” (1Corinthians 13:4 Amp)
Of whom do you boast?Of what do you boast? If it has anything to do with you, or your own achievements, there is a serpent in the garden (“you will be LIKE God”, see Gen 3:5).
Noah Webster defines boast as “to brag; to make a vain display, in speech, of one’s own worth, property, or actions; to glory; to exalt one’s self; to speak of with pride, vanity or exultation, with a view to self-commendation (praise); expression of pride” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).Boasting has its root in pride and vanity, which serves the god of “I”– self-centeredness, self-worship.
The Word of God tells us that YHWH Elohim will share His glory with NO ONE (Isaiah 42:8; 48:11); we need to meditate on why. There is no selfishness or vanity IN Him; on the contrary. Our ABBA Father is a kind and generous parent, giving, caring, with our best interests always before Him. He understands that the very moment we take…

Sar Shalom

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is the author and originator of peace.Your name is “Sar Shalom”, the Prince of Peace, and peace is found only in an intimate relationship with You.By recognizing and acknowledging who YOU are, and accepting Your kingship in our lives, we are flooded and enveloped with YOUR peace, the peace that is beyond understanding.Safe and secure, we KNOW that our Creator will never leave us, never abandon us, but tenderly watches over us, ‘keeping’ us under HIS wings. How we love You, our Elohim and our King!

The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness (my CONSCIOUS integrity and sincerity with Him); according to the cleanness of my hands has He recompensed me. (Psalm 18:20 Amp, emphasis mine)

One of the definitions of ‘integrity’, according to the dictionary, is “the quality or state of being of sound moral principle; uprightness, honesty, and sincerity”(Webster’s New World Dictionary, 3rd College Edition, 1991).Basically, in common sense language, integrity means doing what is right when no one is around to watch, because it is the RIGHT thing to do.It does not necessarily mean perfection, but it does mean striving, trying, and setting a standard for yourself that you refuse to compromise on.
David was a person who lived a life of integrity, even before he became king. While being hunted down and driven from town to town, David had several opportunities to take matters into his own hands, and get even with the one who was ultimately hunting him.King Saul’s desire was to see David dea…

Come Away

And behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind tore into the mountains and broke the rocks in pieces before the Lord, but the Lordwas not in the wind; and after the wind an earthquake, but the Lordwas not in the earthquake; and after the earthquake a fire, but the Lordwas not in the fire; and after the fire a STILL SMALL VOICE.(1Kings 19: 11-12 NKJV, emphasis mine)

There is some speculation that the cave in which YHWH appeared to Elijah (1Kings 19:9) is the same cleft in the rock where He had also appeared to Moses centuries before (Exodus 33:22) – only the El-Shaddai, the ALL-Mighty God, would know for sure. Both of these men, Elijah and Moses, possessed an intense hunger for YHWH, for His presence, His ways, His righteousness, more of HIM in their lives. The only way for them to achieve this goal was to spend quality time with Him, to travel up the ‘mountain of God’, and hide themselves away from the rest of the world:ALONE with Adonai YHWH, their God and Father.Because of…

Your Wings

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who covers us, shielding us, protecting us, caring for us, in so many different ways. You are the cloud by day, protecting us from the elements, and the fire by night, to keep us warm. You are the love that covers a multitude of wrongs, for You are the unconditional love that never fails. It is under the shadow of YOUR wings that we find security and safety, knowing that there is no end to Your faithfulness. There is no one like You, ‘Adonai Elohim’; our lives we willingly surrender to You …
