Poor in Spirit

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3 NKJV)

It is perhaps difficult to associate blessings with being poor, but such is the ‘banking system’ in the finances of God’s Kingdom. “Poor in spirit” has absolutely nothing to do with our external circumstances or conditions; it IS the attitude and condition of our heart. It is how we see OURSELVES when we look in the mirror of God’s Word. What kind of opinion do we have of ourselves? If we were to realistically strip away everything that Jesus is and does, in and through us, just how proud of ourselves WOULD we be?

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, LEST ANYONE SHOULD BOAST.” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV, emphasis mine)

The person that welcomes this heart attitude of being “poor in spirit” has been in the furnace of the refiner’s fire, and KNOWS that the only good thing in his/her life is the Lord Jesus Himself. All self-…

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is the healer of the brokenhearted. You are the ‘Balm of Gilead’, soothing those areas that are raw and wounded. You are the ‘Comforter’ for those that are mourning, and the ‘Oil of JOY’ for those who are deep in sorrow. You are the PRAISE rising from deep within to drive away the spirit of heaviness, and because of You, our Adonai, we KNOW that everlasting JOY shall be ours. We thank You, Father, that we can lift up our eyes to the hills, and call upon the NAME that is above all names, that Name of our Father, “YAH”. ©2011

“Little children, you are of God [you belong to Him] and HAVE [ALREADY] DEFEATED AND OVERCOME THEM [the agents of the antichrist], because He Who lives in you is greater (mightier) than he who is in the world.” (1John 4:4 Amp, emphasis mine)

God does not ‘hand out’ to us ‘overcoming’ life when we receive Jesus as our Lord and Savior; He gives us life AS we ‘overcome’ the trials and tribulations that we walk through. There has to be something for us to ‘overcome’ before we can be ‘successful overcomers’. We will never have a testimony without first passing a test, regardless of whether we like the testing ground or not.

“And they OVERCAME HIM through the blood of the Lamb and the word of their witness; and loving not their lives they freely gave themselves up to death…” (Revelation 12:11 BBE, emphasis mine)

“And let us not get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a harvest of blessing IF we don’t get discouraged AND GIVE UP.” (Galatians 6:9 TLB, emphasis mine)

In the Storm

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who calms all of the traumatizing storms, tornadoes, and cyclones that rage in our life. When the circumstances and situations of life overwhelm us, confuse us, and throw us in every and all directions, You are there pick us up, dust us off, and turn us about to where we KNOW where we are. The safety of Your arms, under the shadow of Your wings, is the ONLY place of refuge worth seeking. It is to YOU that we run when the rip-tide threatens to drag us under, for You are the HIGH TOWER no storm can penetrate. Worthy, worthy, worthy to receive all praise, all honor, is our God! ©2011

Long Life

“I will satisfy you with a long life. I will show you how I will save you.” (Psalm 91:16 GWT)

Today’s medical science has proven that worry, stress, and anxiety will cause medical problems of sufficient severity as to shorten your life considerably. Lack of peace in all areas of our lives is detrimental to our health; surprisingly, even infants and small children suffer from this problem. Intimacy with a loving and caring Father God solves this situation permanently; His name is ‘Sar Shalom’, the Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6). And because He IS the Prince of Peace, the closer we cling to Him, He gives us HIS peace as a means to live this long and full life…

“Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [STOP ALLOWING YOURSELVES TO BE AGITATED AND DISTURBED; AND DO NOT PERMIT YOURSELVES TO BE FEARFUL AND INTIMIDATED AND COWARDLY AND UNSETTLED.]” (John 1…

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who not only set the sun, moon, and stars in their place, but set in order the pattern for their coming and their going. No matter the circumstances and situations of our personal lives, we know that as long as our God reigns, the sun will rise in the east, set in the west, and the moon will shine its light in the night sky. Your ways are truly higher than ours, and excellent above all the earth! ©2011

With Regret

To all of my brothers and sisters in the Lord, beloved friends, and faithful followers of “LETTERS FROM HIS WORD”, and “Mette’s Mailbag”, greetings!

It is with much sadness that I must announce to you that I will no longer be posting the “Mette’s Mailbag”, or the “Daily Blessing” on your wall. The Father has informed me that it is time for this season to end. With the formation of the website that the Lord instructed me to build some time ago, there is a 'blog’ that is included as part of my website. All of the “Mette’s Mailbags” and “Daily Blessings” are now written through this ‘blog’.

If you are still interested in reading and receiving any and all of my writings, you have the option, through this ‘blog’, of having them sent directly to your email address. Scroll down the RIGHT hand side of this page to where it says “FOLLOW BY EMAIL”, and enter your email address in the box. Hit the submit button, and follow all of the instructions you are given to verify you are you, an…

Give HIM a Call

“He will call on me, and I will answer him.” (Psalm 91:15 CJB)

One evening, about a year ago, we received a call, late in the evening, from our oldest daughter. While on her way into town (40 miles away), she had blown a tire on her car, and of course, no spare. She knew immediately who to phone for help, had the assurance of who would come to her assistance, and rescue her from the predicament that she was in. Her DADDY is her ‘kinsman-redeemer’, by right of the blood relationship that they have, and when she calls on him, her dad answers her. Sometimes he will say ‘no’, but he WILL answer her.

Because of the relationship we now have with our ABBA Father, through acceptance of our Lord and Savior Jesus, our Father God is our ‘kinsman-redeemer’, just as my husband is to our daughter. We now have the right, and the privilege, because of the blood sacrifice of our Jesus, to call out to our Father, our Creator, our ‘El-Shaddai’, our ‘Adonai Yir’eh’, and KNOW that He will answer us.…

In Sorrow

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who comforts us in our times of sorrow and loss. You understand well the pain, for You suffered through the loss of Your only Child, Your Son, and grief is something You are not a stranger to. Through the gentle Ruach HaKodesh, the sweet Holy Spirit, You are able to comfort, bring peace, and fill the empty holes of loss that death has left in our lives. You are truly our All in ALL!!! ©2011

I Will Deliver

“I will be with him when he is in trouble. I will extricate him and bring him honor.” (Psalm 91:15 CJB)

In the 16th chapter of Acts, we have the story of Paul and Silas being imprisoned in the Philippian jail. We are told how Father God had used Paul to deliver a young girl from an evil spirit, which caused the girl’s masters’ to become angry, and have Paul and Silas thrown into the prison. Not only were they placed within the ‘inner’ part of the prison, but their feet were placed in the ‘stocks’. Midnight finds them in total and complete darkness, yet they were confident in their praise and worship to their God, their Father, their Deliverer, and their Strong Tower (Acts 16:24-25).

ABBA Father came through for them. The Word describes it as a ‘great earthquake’ (Acts 16:26), and it not only opened all of the cell doors of the prison, but it also loosened all of the chains that held the prisoners bound. The ‘keeper’ of the prison, AND his entire household, heard and received the…

Your Throne

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who opens wide the gates of Your court for those of us who are called by Your name. You call us to come BOLDLY to the throne of grace, to come and obtain the mercy and grace that we need, daily, hourly, from You. You call us to come and fellowship with You, to enjoy the warmth of Your embrace, the intimacy of Your presence. We have learned that only in YOUR presence is there lasting joy, and only in YOUR presence is there strength for the road ahead. We adore You, our ABBA Father, and our desire is to honor and glorify YOU. ©2011

“BECAUSE he is devoted to Me, I WILL deliver him; I WILL keep him safe, for he knows My name.” (Psalm 91:14 Jewish Study Bible, Tanakh Translation, emphasis mine)

Noah Webster, in his dictionary of 1828, defines ‘devotion’ as “a solemn attention to the Supreme Being in worship; a yielding of the heart and affections to God, with reverence, faith and piety; ardent love or affection; attachment manifested by CONSTANT ATTENTION” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828, emphasis mine). Adonai has impressed upon me a STRONG urgency, during this series on Psalm 91, to stress this one point: we MUST stay fixed, permanent, un-shakeable in our residence in the “secret place in the Most High”. From our position under the shadow of His wings, our attachment, and our attention, to HIM should be strong, and our eyes remain steady – FIXED - upon our ‘Elohim’, our God, the MIGHTY God.

BECAUSE we choose to stay in this position, ABBA says that we will know His name, but o…

The Giver

Blessed are YOU, Lord our God, King of the universe, who gives to us ALL things, richly to enjoy in abundance, in the days that You have given to us as ours to live on this earth. Thank You, Father God, that You more than meet our EVERY need according to YOUR riches in glory, by Christ Jesus our Lord! Your eyes are constantly running to and fro, back and forth, throughout all the earth, looking for those for whom You can pour out Your blessings upon! Father, Your love and Your grace is always amazing! ©2011

“You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample UNDERFOOT.” (Psalm 91:13 Amp, emphasis mine)

At one time, during its long and fascinating history, the Tower of London was also home to its own private ‘Menagerie’, or zoo. During the reign of the first Queen Elizabeth in the 16th century, the ‘Menagerie’ was opened to public viewing, and boasted an assorted population of lions, tigers, bears, leopards, elephants, hyenas, and other animals. There is a story told of one particular lion, who had a loud and ‘fiercesome’ roar, and would invariably let it sound out when the corridors were the most crowded. Visitors were assured that his cage was secure, that no, he could not escape, and that yes, he was properly fed and not hungry. And besides all of that, he was also missing most of his teeth.

We are told in the Word of God that our “enemy, the Adversary, stalks about LIKE a roaring lion looking for someone to devour” (1Peter 5:8 CJB, emphasis…

Beautiful Shabbat!

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given us another beautiful Sabbath to enjoy, to set apart and sanctify, and to worship You in and through it. We thank You, Father, that we follow YOUR example, as we rest on this, the seventh day. We realize Sabbath keeping is an ordinance, and a blessing, that has never been revoked, and we rejoice in another opportunity to be obedient to You. We honor You, our Adonai, as Lord of THIS day, Lord of the Sabbath. ©2011

More Oil

“Then the kingdom of heaven will be comparable to ten virgins, who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were prudent. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the prudent took oil in flasks along with their lamps. Now while the bridegroom was delaying, they all got drowsy and began to sleep. But at midnight there was a shout, ‘Behold, the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’ Then all those virgins rose and trimmed their lamps. The foolish said to the prudent, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’But the prudent answered, ‘No, there will not be enough for us and you too; go instead to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.’ And while they were going away to make the purchase, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding feast; and the door was shut. Later the other virgins also came, saying, ‘ Lord, lord, open up for us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly I say t…

Carry You

“They will carry you in their hands, so that you won't trip on a stone.” (Psalm 91:12 CJB)

Ancient Jewish wisdom believes the reason angels try to prevent you from ‘tripping on a stone’ is so you will not fall into sin. We know that the angels of Father God are “ministering spirits (servants) sent out in the service [of God for the assistance] of those who are to inherit salvation” (Hebrews 1:14). We know also that angels respond to the WORD of God (Psalm 103:20), and hasten to obey the Word when it is spoken in faith.

We know that the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). How awesome, and how very humbling this concept is, that our ABBA Father would send forth His angels to assist us, help us, and aid us that we NOT sin.

Always remember whose angels these are. Our ‘Elohim’, our God, the ONLY God, is the ONE to receive praise and honor for their help and assistance, not the angels themselves, for they are merely created beings. And let it be constant in our minds that we can…

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given us ears to hear, eyes to see, hands to touch, a nose to smell, a tongue to taste, and a voice to sing Your praise! Thank You, our Father in Heaven, that we have the ability to enjoy all the works of Your hands, and to praise and glorify YOU in and for it! You are so worthy to receive all of our praise! Hallelu-YAH! ©2011

Armed Guards

“For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [OF OBEDIENCE AND SERVICE].” (Psalm 91:11 Amp, emphasis mine)

It seems a lifetime ago that this particular incident happened, but I can remember it like it was yesterday. A neighbor and friend had brought her children, who were of similar ages to mine, over to play for the afternoon. She returned later to pick them up, and while she (and her children) were already loaded in her old Jeep Cherokee (late ‘70’s model?), I and my oldest daughter Karen (about 6 years old at the time) were standing at the vehicle saying our farewells. Karen was leaning in the window of the backdoor, talking with her friends, while I talked with my friend.

As we said goodbye, both of us Moms assumed that Karen heard us, and had moved back from the vehicle; unfortunately, she hadn’t. As my friend stepped on the accelerator, the forward motion threw Karen’s one leg under the Jeep, and the rear …

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given us Your Word to guide us, to keep us, to teach us, to instruct us in the ways and paths of righteousness. We thank YOU, Holy Spirit, that You are our one-on-one classroom instructor, giving us individual private tutoring, that we may understand and learn our lessons well. Thank You, Lord, for all of Your patience with us, even when we develop ‘hearing’ problems. You are awesome, and we do not appreciate You enough. ©2011

NO Evil

“Because YOU HAVE MADE the Lord YOUR refuge, and the Most High YOUR dwelling place, there shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near YOUR tent.” (Psalm 91:9-10 Amp, emphasis mine)

As we move with greater acceleration toward the day of our Lord’s return, we can see with our eyes increased evil of EVERY sort exploding in the world around us. Sexual perversions unimaginable, violence that is now common place, not to mention the natural disasters that are happening on a daily, almost hourly schedule. There are many warnings throughout the Word of what is now taking place, yet here, in this opening verse, we have a promise of protection and shelter from anything that could, or would, come at us.

However, our Father God can do very little until WE first choose to make HIM our refuge, our habitation, our permanent address. In modern day terminology, this is known as accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as our own personal Savior, and asking Him to come into our hearts and …

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who delivers us out of the hands of the evil one. The snare of the fowler cannot hold us captive, because YOU, our Adonai, are the God who came to set the captives free. Set free from the all the bondage of the enemy, Lord, we willingly become YOUR bond-servants, lovingly serving You with all of our hearts, all of our minds, all of our souls, and all of our strength. We worship You, Lord, and we thank You. ©2011

“A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [YOURSELF INACCESSIBLE IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH] as you witness the reward of the wicked.” (Psalm 91:7-8 Amp, emphasis mine)

In 2Kings chapter 19, we find the account of an incredible deliverance worked by ONE angel, at the command of the Lord. The King of Assyria, Sennacherib, had sent a GREAT army against Hezekiah, the King of Judah, and was determined to defeat him. Hezekiah was a man who loved YHWH, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and was devoted to serving Him. As the city of Jerusalem lay surrounded and besieged by this vast army, Sennacherib’s general sent to King Hezekiah an insulting letter, demanding the complete surrender and submission of Judah to Assyria. Hezekiah takes this letter to the ‘House of the Lord’, spread it out before the Lord (2Kings 19:14), and sought the Lord for divine intervention. The result?

“And …

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who opens wide the eyes of our understanding, that we may SEE the wonderful things that You attempt to reveal to us through the eyes of the spirit. Through the eyes of the spirit we KNOW that greater is HE who is in us than he who is against us. Through the eyes of the spirit we KNOW that there are more that are WITH us than there are those that are against us. And through the eyes of the spirit we KNOW that we rule and reign victorious through HIM that won the battle over sin, death, and the grave. We thank You, Father, for we understand that as long as we keep our eyes focused on YOU, You will continue to reveal to us all of those things that You believe we need to know. And we are very careful to give YOU all of the praise, all of the honor, and ALL of the glory – Hallelu-YAH! ©2011

Not Afraid

“YOU SHALL NOT BE AFRAID of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.” (Psalm 91:4-5 Amp, emphasis mine)

It is human nature to be afraid of what we cannot see, and darkness can hide many ugly things. But there are also many attacks and ambushes that appear out of nowhere in the brightness of day; we all have a ‘blind side’ that our enemy is well aware of. These attacks come in every shape and form, and their single purpose is to pull us away from believing and trusting in the only true and living God.

It was interesting to find that in the original Hebrew ‘Tanakh’ (Jewish Study Bible), from the old Chaldean manuscripts, these verses also imply attacks from demonic forces and rulers of darkness. Included was also the angel of the death, who was active during the first Passover, and the exodus …

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who sanctifies us, sets us apart, and cleanses us from the inside out. Then You fill us, Lord, with the fullness of YOU. We are designed to be YOUR living Temples, home to the Holy Spirit living within us, and glorifying our Father God with our bodies and our spirits. May all that we say and do reflect to whom we belong; may people look upon us and say, “When they saw the courage of _____and _____ and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary [men/women], they were astonished and they took note that these [men/women] had been with Jesus” (Acts 4:13, inserts mine). ©2011

“…His truth is a shield and protection.” (Psalm 91:4 CJB)

With residency in the “secret place” of the Most High comes intimacy. The more time we spend in this “secret place”, the more we will know Him, our ‘Elohim’, and the more we will understand His Word. The more we understand His Word, the more we will desire both the written WORD, and the living WORD, Jesus.

But with the intimacy comes accountability. This is true of any relationship, and it is much more so with our ABBA Father, our Heavenly Husband, our Creator and God. We cannot claim to love someone, want to live with them in intimacy, and not be willing to be obedient, and accountable. It is when we walk in this obedience, from within the “secret place”, that we are encircled with this “shield of truth” that sets us free. It is only the truth that YOU KNOW (personally and intimately), that will set you free.

“...If you OBEY what I say, then you are really my talmidim {disciples}, {and} YOU WILL KNOW THE TRUTH, AND THE TRU…

Blessed are YOU, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is the author of TRUTH. We know, Father, that You are the TRUE God and the God Who IS Truth, and we know that grace and truth came through our Savior King, Jesus the Christ. We know that Your written Word, the Torah, is truth, and we know that the Holy Spirit, is the Spirit of Truth. Thank You, Lord, for the truth that we receive! Hallelu-YAH! ©2011

Sabbath Rest

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who rested on the seventh day, and blessed it. The word ‘shabat’ means rested, and we choose to rest this day, this day that You have sanctified and set apart. We choose to honor You, Your Torah, and praise the works of Your hands. We thank You, Father, for this opportunity to joyfully be obedient to Your Torah! We delight in You, Lord, and Your instructions are never grievous! ©2011

“He will COVER YOU WITH HIS WINGS; you will be safe in His care; His faithfulness will protect and defend you.” (Psalm 91:4 GNT, emphasis mine)

During the early colonial times in the United States, a marriage custom arose when clergymen were few and far between. The custom came to be known as ‘Jumping over the Broom’; when a couple had accomplished this feat, they were considered married, until such time as a minister was available to legalize the already ‘done’ deed. Many such marriages never did have the benefit of a clergyman, yet they were still considered just as legal and binding as if they had of done.

It was fascinating to me when I found that the expression in ancient Hebrew - “to spread one’s wings over” - means to LEGALLY take a wife. Tied in together with this expression is the fact that the corner of the ‘tallit’, the Jewish prayer shawl, is often referred to as ‘a wing’ (The Complete Word Study Dictionary: Old Testament, Copyright2003 by AMG Publishers). In essence,…

Under YOUR Wings

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who covers us, shielding us, protecting us, caring for us, in so many different ways. You are the cloud by day, protecting us from the elements, and the fire by night, to keep us warm. You are the love that covers a multitude of wrongs, for You are the unconditional love that never fails. It is under the shadow of YOUR wings that we find security and safety, knowing that there is no end to Your faithfulness. There is no one like You, ‘Adonai Elohim’; our lives we willingly surrender to You … ©2011

“He will rescue you from the trap of the hunter and from the plague of calamities…” (Psalm 91:3 CJB)

When we are caught in a torrential rainstorm, an umbrella will only do us good while we are standing under it. The same is true of our relationship with our Father God: He can only rescue us while we CHOOSE to remain, to sit down, and take up permanent residency in the “secret place of the Most High”. Once we have determined with the heavenly ‘Post Office’ WHERE our address is, then there is no question as to WHO our defender is.

And make no mistake, we have a diligent hunter who continuously lays ‘traps’ for us, trying to trip us up and lay us low. He is very much our adversary, and though he cannot defeat us, for “greater is HE that is IN us that he that is in the world” (1John 4:4), we must be aware of who he is, and the methods he uses in his attacks.

“The thief comes ONLY in order to STEAL, KILL AND DESTROY; I have come so that they may have life, LIFE IN ITS FULLEST MEASURE.”

Sets Us Free

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who delivers us, rescues us, saves us, and sets us free from the bondage of the adversary, from ALL the chains of darkness. You are as close as a cry for help, and You deliver us upon the wings of eagles, safely to the high tower that is YOUR secret place. You go before us to prepare the way, and You bring up the rear, making sure we are not attacked from behind. You surround us with an angelic host, protecting us and KEEPING us, wrapped in Your eternal, everlasting arms. You are the “Elohei Mikkarov”, the God who is NEAR, and we worship YOU … ©2011

“I will say of the Lord, He is MY Refuge and MY Fortress, MY God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!” (Psalm 91:2 Amp, emphasis mine)

I CHOOSE, by an act of my own free will, to say that God, the creator of this universe, is MY God, MY OWN God, and I take Him to myself as MINE. I take ownership of HIM, and allow HIM to take ownership of me. I CHOOSE HIM, the “EL OLAM”, the Everlasting God, the One who is, who was, and is to come (Revelation 1:8). I CHOOSE to recognize the covenant that MY Adonai, MY Lord and MY Master, has with me, and I CHOOSE to believe that He will keep every part of this covenant that has been signed, sealed, and delivered with the blood of MY Yeshua Mashiach, Jesus the Messiah.

In this verse, we are required to ‘put our money where our mouth is’. The time has now come down to the wire: CHOOSE YOU this day who you will serve (Joshua 24:15), and we must make our confession accordingly. As we openly, vocally, and proudly, acknowledge wh…

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who forgives me of ALL of my sins, transgressions, and iniquities, in order that I might be restored to a right relationship with You. Thank You, Father, that You have given me the gift of free choice, that I can choose of my own free will, whom I will serve and honor. I know when I CHOOSE to come to You in sincere repentance, recognizing and acknowledging MY sin, You CHOOSE to forgive me of my sins, and never remember them again. And I understand and acknowledge that all of this is possible BECAUSE of the blood of my sinless Savior King Jesus, the One who died in my place, that I might live as a child of my Creator God. In thanks, I give my life BACK to You, my ABBA Father … ©2011

“Those … will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1 NLT)

King David, called the ‘Shepherd King’, is the author of Psalm 91, and we learn so much more from it when we look at it from a shepherd’s point of view. The Hebrew word translated as ‘abide’, or ‘find rest’ is the word “lûn”, and basically means to lodge, to rest, to stay, often for overnight. For a shepherd, finding secure shelter for his flock at night was a great priority, so for David to say that there is secure and peaceful overnight rest in “the shadow of the El-Shaddai”, there is no greater statement of trust that could be given.

But where is the “shadow of the Almighty”? We know where a physical shadow is found, in that it is shade formed by an object, or a person, that has intercepted rays of light, usually sunlight. We also know that we need to walk fairly close to another individual, if we desire their shadow to fall on us. So, if we desire to ‘find rest’ in the shadow of the Almighty, it stands …

We Honor YOU

Blessed are you, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has given us another dawn, another day, another morning to rise and sing Your praise! You are the God who brought order out of chaos, who hung the stars in their appointed positions, and suspends the earth in its space. Our God is an AWESOME God, who reigns from heaven above! We choose to honor You, THIS day, for it is the day that YOU have made! Hallelu-YAH! ©2011

The Secret Place

“You who SIT DOWN in the High God’s presence…” (Psalm 91:1 MB, emphasis mine)

Some time ago, I was spending time with my daughter, and four year old granddaughter, at a public playground, just enjoying quality family time. Emma, my granddaughter, would amuse herself on the swings and slides, occasionally running back to her mother to ‘check in’, and then would be off again, as busy as a healthy four year old can be. So much energy, yet she is such a joy to watch. Unfortunately, many of us treat our time with Father God in the same way, running back and forth, ‘checking in’, never stopping long enough to listen to what HE has to say, or simply desiring the “quality family time” that He longs to spend with us, HIS children …

Here in the high desert of the United States, where my husband and I live, we have what is known as ‘tumbleweed’ – a brush which has no real root system. When extreme conditions arise, such as wind, heat, cold, drought, etc., the tumbleweed dies, and the wind wi…

Safe Haven

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who invites us to come, and BE with You. You never force us; You invite us, but with the invitation is the promise of a loving welcome and fellowship like no other. You provide for us a place of security and rest, a calm haven from the storms of life. You are our Father; we are Your children. It is to You that we run, not for what is in Your hand, but because of what comes from Your heart. We adore You, ABBA Father, and we thank You for who You are. ©2011

His Image

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is always at work IN us, perfecting the image of Your Son, Jesus, IN and THROUGH us. Our desire is reflect more and more of HIS likeness, that the world would know who we belong to. Thank You, ABBA, for You are such a loving and caring Father, and You want only the best for us, Your children, even though we do not always see it that way. Your ways are ALWAYS higher that ours, and for that we give You PRAISE! ©2011

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who created and instituted the Sabbath, a beautiful thing, for us to enjoy. We delight IN You, Father God, on this Sabbath day, as we enjoy Your world that You spoke into being. We choose to meditate ON, and IN, Your Word, both the written and the LIVING, Jesus our Messiah, and soon coming KING!!! May Your Name be glorified in ALL the earth! ©2011

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who fills us, fills us to overflowing with Yourself! You take these empty, hollow vessels, and pour into them the fullness of Your Spirit of LIFE, and through this fullness, teach us how to live life to the fullness! Through the POWER of the Holy Spirit, His presence within us, we can BE the light of the world and the city on the hill that YOU, Father, desire us to be.
