Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for Your promise to me, that You will make the crooked places straight.”  You have said that when I am blind and in darkness, You will lead me, and BE the light that I am in need of.  Thank You, my Elohim, that by keeping my hand firmly in Yours, I will not be led astray.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who forms the clouds that move across the sky.  From the white, fluffy cumulous clouds to the dark, heavy rain clouds, each one is individual in shape and form.  And it is with wonder that I watch them move across the horizon, never to reappear in the same form!  Amazing is what You are, my Creator, my beginning and my ending.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who warns me of the dangers of boasting and bragging.  I must NOT “blow my own horn”, for in so doing, I set myself in the place of an idol.  All of this has its root in pride and arrogance, which is something You, my Father, detest.  May  I always remain humble in Your sight, may the awe and reverence that I have for You, my Creator, guide my every action.  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for all of the wonderful and talented ‘cooks’ that have moved through my life, and for those that still continue to do so!  Their talent in creating some of the most delicious culinary delights is amazing, and makes something ordinary taste like ambrosia.  Thank You, ABBA, for all of those that are gifted in this manner!  Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who instructs me in the way of ‘gentleness’.  Through Your Word, I learn how to be gentle, while still standing strong on the rock called ‘no compromise’.  Thank You, my Father, for Your example in the way You conduct Yourself with me, firm and unyielding, yet always gracious and gentle.  How I love You, my ABBA!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has compassion on me when I am bowed down and heavy burdened.  You are the “El Rachum” the Elohim of compassion, and as soon as I turn the ‘burdens and bowed’ over to You, You are faithful to make my feet like hinds' feet, and even cause me to walk on my high places!”  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given me another beautiful Shabbat to enjoy, to set apart and sanctify, and to worship You in and through it.  I thank You, my Father, that I follow YOUR example, as I rest on this, the seventh day.  I realize the 7th day Shabbat IS an ordinance, AND a blessing, something that has never been revoked or annulled, and I rejoice in another opportunity to be obedient to You, my ABBA Father.  I honor YOU, my Master, as Lord of THIS day, Lord of the Sabbath.  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who inhabits eternity, for You are the “Elohei Kedem”, the eternal Elohim.  You are without a beginning and without an end, for You are everlasting, endless, and immortal.  You do NOT change, forever You are the same.  Thank You, my Father, for WHO You are!  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is revealing to me the dangers of a harsh, critical attitude.  Excessive criticism has its root in self-exaltation and pride, an attitude that You, my Father, will not tolerate.  When I turn my critical eyes inward, and examine myself objectively, honestly, and with humility, I see ‘things’ within myself that I must correct before I can ever THINK about criticizing anyone else.  Your instructions remain true:  “I must first remove the log from my own eye, before I can successfully remove the splinter from my brother/sister’s eye.  Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for teaching me how to love those who say all manner of unkind things concerning me.  You have shown me, ABBA, that many times it is the hurts and wounds within the one speaking that is, in reality, being expressed.  It is also when I make the choice to react in love and compassion that all of these unkind words have no negative effect on me.  Thank You, my Elohim, that You make my “even my enemies to be at peace with me”.  Hallelu-YAH!!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is instructing me in the need to be ‘transparent’.  First and most important, I am to be open and transparent with You, my Father, for nothing is hidden from Your sight.  I am also to be transparent with others, in order that Your light may shine brightly, through me, to those around me.  Help me, ABBA, to not hide myself behind the shields and walls that I have been known to throw up.  And to YOU, my Elohim, be all honor and esteem.  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, there will come, a time of YOUR choosing, when this world as we know it, with all of its darkness, evil, and chaos, will “pass away”.  My “Sar Shalom”, my Prince of Peace, will then rule and reign throughout eternity!Your Kingdom come, ABBA, and Your will be done in ALL the earth.  Amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who consistently reminds me of all of the different ‘things’ I am to ‘guard’, to stand watch over, protect, and keep safe.  Found in the list of what to ‘guard’ are:  Your commandments, Your Torah; the Sabbath; to not forget YHWH my Elohim; my mouth; knowledge, and myself from idols.  Thank You, my Father, for reminding me of WHAT my responsibilities are.  And thank You for helping me to treasure what You have given me.  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for the silence.  Thank You, ABBA, for the quiet times, when nothing moves, and no sounds are heard.  Thank You, YHWH my Elohim, that when I sit and listen to “nothing”, these are the special times when I sense Your presence that much more.  And it is ONLY In Your presence is joy to satisfaction”.  Hallelu-YAH!!!

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is always working IN me, giving me the desire, my Father, to do YOUR will.  I am to work out my own deliverance and salvation with “fear and trembling”, by being obedient to You, and Your Torah.  Thank You, ABBA, that You are faithful to finish and complete the work You have begun in me, right up until the return of Messiah Yeshua.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  Thank You, my Father, for all of the different forms of POWER, from electricity, to solar, wind, hydro-electric, and even to the burning of fossil fuels.  It is amazing to me that all of these can be channeled to better serve mankind – even to the running of my household appliances!  I recognize and understand that all wisdom and knowledge has its source in YOU; therefore, all of this technology comes from Your hand!  Thank You, ABBA, that I do NOT have to scrub my clothes on a washboard!  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who patiently waits for me to join with You in celebrating Your sanctified and set-apart day, Your Shabbat.  I thank You, ABBA, that the ordinance concerning this day is symbolic of an everlasting covenant with You.  When I choose to celebrate this day with my Creator, it reveals to those around me WHO I am, Your child, taking great pleasure in my relationship with You.  I thank You, Yah, for this special day, I praise and bless You with all that I am.  AMEIN!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continually reassures me that YOU are the only one who can be trusted.  When I am gripped with fear, standing with knees knocking and heart racing, You are there, the “Ha El Hanne’ Azreni Chayil”, the El Who girds me with strength.  Thank You, my Father, for the many promises in Your Word, promises that mean I will never stand alone, for You are always with me.  And I thank You, ABBA, for the many, many times that You have proven to me that You CAN be trusted, that You are true to Your Word.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who sounds a warning when I have allowed the “yetzer hara”, the evil impulse within me, to gain the upper hand.  The Sages teach me that this “yetzer hara” is rooted in selfishness, and from it springs disobedience to YOUR will and YOUR Torah.  Please, ABBA, help me to cultivate the “yetzerhatov”, the GOOD inclination and impulse, in my life, the one that always seeks to be obedient to Your Word.  Amein.

False Witness“You do not bear false witness against your neighbour.”  (Exodus 20:16 ISR)
Noah Webster defines ‘witness’ as “a person who knows or sees ANY thing; one {who is} PERSONALLY PRESENT; to see or KNOW by personal presence” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828, emphasis and insert mine).  Therefore, a ‘false’ witness is basically one who says that they ‘saw’ (or heard), this or that, when in reality, they NEVER did.
YHWH Elohim brought this truth home to me while my husband and I were still in ‘churchianity’.  One afternoon, we had company, a husband and wife of whom we are very fond of.  Both had been ‘grievously’ wounded in a church situation, were still healing from all of the back-lash, and had not progressed past discussing it.  The wife made the comment: “I KNOW they are talking trash about me”.
I was uncomfortable and unsettled concerning this conversation.  When I had the opportunity to talk it over with my Father, He showed me where my friend …

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who cautions me concerning ‘over-indulgence’.  It can be in the form of eating, or spending money excessively – clothes, shoes, etc. – or spending inordinate amounts of time with other people (when my family has need of me), or lingering for hours on the internet.  All of it is the direct opposite of the Ruach’s fruit of self-control, and reveals a lack of discipline in my life.  I ask for YOUR help, my Father, in this contentious area of my life, that I might be filled with the fruit of righteousness, through יהושע Messiah, to the esteem and praise of Elohim.”  Amein.

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created ‘storms’.  As I watch the dark clouds roll in, I am reminded that You will occasionally allow a ‘storm’ to erupt in my life, waiting to see what ROCK I will stand upon.  I am thankful, my Father, that YOU are my shelter in the midst of the storm, for even the winds and the waves obey Your Word.  Hallelu-YAH!

Labor Day
This weekend, here in the United States, we are celebrating ‘LABOR DAY’, a day specifically set aside to recognize and honor those that are part of the workforce, and ‘labor’.  For most, it is a time of rest, relaxation, and rejuvenation.  Yet what of those that labor tirelessly for the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, receiving no earthly wages, and many times very little thanks?  Do we ever take the time to stop, and give THEM thanks and support, even if just in prayer? But brothers, we beg you to know those who labour among you, and are over you in the Master and admonish you, and to hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work.(1Thes 5:12-12 ISR)
We will not ever get to know those who labor among us unless we are willing to spend time with them, interact with them, and have fellowship with them.  Are we then willing to come along side of them, labor beside them, and so honor and esteem them in the work ABBA has called them to do?

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe.  You show me, ABBA, the dangers that wait for those who choose to walk away from Torah, and I understand, unfortunately, that there will be those that do.  My petition to You, my “El Tsaddik”, my righteous Elohim, is that I would never be counted among those who turn away, and turn back to Mitsrayim, to Egypt.  May my heart and my eyes ALWAYS remained concentrated upon You, to walk in all of Your ways.  Amein.

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, on THIS day, THIS Shabbat.  I thank You, my Father, for this everlasting covenant that I have with You, sealed through my obedience to the 7th day Sabbath.  As I ‘practice’ spending time with You on this set-apart day, I am in fact rehearsing for the time when I will always be with You, in the ‘olam haba’, the world to come.  Thank You, my “El Olam”, my Everlasting God, for this small taste of eternity!  Amein!

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created the ‘written word’, beginning with each letter of the alphabet, to the meanings of each individual word, and including proper sentence structure.  Thank You, my Father, for the ability to READ, to comprehend what all the letters and words mean, and to understand Your thoughts behind the words.  And thank You, ABBA, that You continue to open the eyes of my understanding, unfolding wonderful ‘nuggets’ from Your Torah.  Hallelu-YAH!

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has faithfully led me to the teachers and instructors, pastors and leaders, those that YOU have chosen for me to sit under.  Thank You, my Father, for the lessons learned from each one, and for those lessons still to come.  I ask, ABBA, for a fresh anointing upon each one, those individuals that YOU have called, appointed, and anointed.  Thank You, my Elohim.  Amein.
