Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who not only brings fresh mercy every morning, but also fresh joy with each sunrise.  You hold our hand, ABBA, as we weep through the dark hours before the dawn, but with each bright ray of Your SONshine, joy once again fills our hearts with song.  As we continue to yield to You, in love and obedience, YOUR joy overflows IN and THROUGH our lives - the praise rises up, Lord, for that is what our purpose is!  So worthy are You, ABBA Father, to receive ALL praise, honor, and glory!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who patiently waits for me to join with Him in celebrating His sanctified and set-apart day, His Shabbat.  I thank You, ABBA, that the ordinance concerning this day is symbolic of an everlasting covenant with You.  When I choose to celebrate this day with my Creator, it reveals to those around me WHO I am, Your child, delighting is my relationship with You.  I thank You, Yah, for this special day, I praise and bless You with all that I am.  AMEIN!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who by YOUR example, is teaching us to love those who hate and despise us.  Only through Your love IN us, and because of all that You do FOR us, can we learn to love those around us, being the light to the world that You desire us to be.  May we always extend the hand of mercy in Your Name, ABBA, that all would know to whom we belong, the “El Rachum”, the God of Compassion.  Amein, and amein!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is THE source of the wisdom and knowledge from where all our modern technology is birthed.  From cell phones to computers, e-mail to voice mail, You have created ways for us to communicate with one another that is amazing!  And in spite of all this advanced communication, YOU remain as close as a ‘whisper’, as near as the end of my fingertips. You are “Elohei Mikkarov”, the God Who is Near, the One who answers when I call.  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is the Author and Perfecter of our faith.  Faith finds its source IN You, and faith has its goal IN You.  Thank You, Lord, that as we continue in our walk of faith, we have the Spirit of Faith to accompany us, to help us, sustain us, and enable us to lengthen our stride as we press on and IN!  Hallelu-YAH!

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who continues to reveal to us the depths and intimacies of Your Word.  Thank You, Abba, for Your WORD, Your Torah, as You daily lead us in the path of Divine instructions for righteous and moral living.  May our hearts remain teachable, hungry for what you give us, as young birds in the nest, always eager to be fed.  Thank You, for the “Ruach haKodesh”, the Holy Spirit, who is our Divine Teacher and Instructor, our one-on-one private Tutor!  Our classroom is surely like no other!  Hallelu-YAH!

SHEVET 15 Overflowing
“… For his mouth speaks what overflows from his heart.”  (Luke 6:45 CJB)

ABBA, my Father, my heart is overflowing.  Words are very inadequate.  To say ‘I love YOU’ is not sufficient, it does not begin to express the depth of the emotion within me toward You.  You are the breath that I draw, for without You, there is no breathing.  You are the light and the delight of my eyes, for with my eyes I look upon all that You have created, and all that You continue to do to bless and honor Your children.
You are the beat of my heart, for You are the One that formed me within my mother’s womb.  You continue to monitor this heart, making sure it functions in the capacity for which You created it.  You are the sweet fragrance in my nostril, letting me know that You are near, by the gentle touch upon my head.  With my hands, I reach out to You; You take me by the hand, leading and guiding me along the paths of righteousness.
You are my “Joy unspeakable and full of GLORY” (1Peter 1…

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who fills us with YOUR strength when we are weak.  You not only walk with us THROUGH the water and fire, THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, but You also carry us on eagles’ wings, that our strength might be restored.  You teach us that it is not necessarily the one with the greatest strength that prevails, but the one whose strength is submitted and yielded to YOU.  “Elohim Avinu”, Father God, how awesome You are!  You have made provision for everything we might need, if we would only seek YOU first!

SHEVET 14 WHOM Do You Know?
Examine yourselves whether you are in the belief – prove yourselves.  Or do you not KNOW yourselves, that Yeshua Messiah is in you, unless you are disapproved.” (2Corinthians 13:5 ISR, emphasis mine)

How does one gauge the extent of WHO we are?  Whom do you KNOW, and know well?  Who do you hang out with?  What are you certain of?  What can you test and prove within yourself, and evaluate against the standard of the Torah, the Word of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?  What is the ONE statement that you can make that you know is absolute and complete truth?

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is teaching me, continually, the meaning of patience.  Your Word tells me that when I am impatient, I will act foolishly, and that is NOT my desire.  Thank You, ABBA, You are not only teaching me to WAIT, but You are also teaching me to enjoy the waiting.  It is in the waiting that my strength is renewed, and my ‘emunah’, my belief and trust in You, is confirmed.  My heart overflows with Your goodness …

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has given us the Shabbat to be a sign for all eternity, verifying that we are YOUR people, Your set-apart and sanctified people, walking in covenant relationship with You.  We thank You, Adonai Elohim, that as You chose THIS day to rest, we too may rest and honor You on THIS day, the seventh day, Your Shabbat.  Thank You, Yeshua HaMashiach, that You are our ‘Lord of the Sabbath’, and we will always stand complete in You!

SHEVET 12 Forever Settled
Your Word is SETTLED in Heaven forever, O YAHWEH. (Psalm 119:89 HRB, emphasis mine)

There are those of us that have spent some time on the inside of a courtroom, giving us a little experience as to the workings of our judicial system.  When all of the legal procedures have run their course, and all that remains is the judge’s decision, stress is heightened and nerves are frayed.  However, when the gavel comes down, the decision is made, and it is ‘SETTLED’; it is finished.
Noah Webster defines ‘settled’ as “to make certain or permanent, to determine, to adjust or confirm, to establish, to be free from doubt” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).  We know that ‘forever’ relates to a time of infinite duration, or an unending future.  Therefore, from this verse, we may conclude that the Word of our Elohim is infinitely and permanently established, and confirmed, in heaven, NEVER to change, nor is it subject to appeal!
The heaven and th…

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who hand-picked all the instructors and teachers you wished me to learn from, and those I am STILL learning from.  Step by step, line upon line, precept by precept, You have shown me those I was to walk with, observe, and allow to mentor and disciple me.  And You have been faithful to reveal to me when each season was fulfilled and completed, and all of the knowledge absorbed.  Thank YOU, my ABBA, for the lesson You have taught me concerning the safety in submission, for as I submit to You, and those who have the rule and authority over me, I will always be in right relationship with You.  My “El Hanne’eman”, my Faithful God, as long as my hand remains in Yours, I know that my steps will always be ordered aright.  Hallelu-YAH!

SHEVET 11Open Ears
“I love those who love me, and those who seek me early and DILIGENTLY shall find me.”  (Proverbs 8:17 Amp, emphasis mine)
"Keep asking, and it will be given to you; keep seeking, and you will find; keep knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who keeps asking receives; he who keeps seeking finds; and to him who keeps knocking, the door will be opened.”(Matthew 7:7-8 CJB)
Throughout the “westernized, modern church”, there is heard a fairly common saying, that the Father “knows how to get our attention when He needs to”, a saying that I have been guilty of using myself.  In reality, however, this phrase is a subtle form of arrogance, and certainly a sign of laziness and complacency in our relationship with the ONE who created us.  According to the opening verses above, it is OUR responsibility to seek our Elohim, to seek HIS wisdom, HIS fellowship, HIS direction and guidance, and even HIS daily instructions.  We seek Him out because we love Him, b…

Yom Berekha - The Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who created wind, air that You have put into motion by Your breath.  I am thankful for the cool breeze of a hot summer day, a gust of wind scattering autumn leaves, and a strong wind that blows smog and air pollutants clear out of our state.  I am thankful for the “Ruach haKodesh”, the set-apart, holy breath of the Living Elohim, that is, among other things, the Spirit of TRUTH, who brings to my mind all the words of my Master Yeshua.  May the wind of the Spirit reveal all of the pollutants that I am still nursing within me, and assist me in blowing them all AWAY!  AMEIN!

SHEVET 10 The Best
“Love … is ever ready to believe the BEST of every person …”(1Corinthians 13:7 Amp, emphasis mine)
Noah Webster defines ‘gossip’ as “one who runs from house to house, tattling and telling news; an idle tattler” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).  A very dangerous practice, as often what is told is the amended truth, and this ‘new’ version may destroy lives in the retelling.  Ancient Jewish Wisdom condemns this practice of gossip, even to the one who listens, for it is criticizing and maligning one that is made in the image of God.
A perverse man causes strife, and a talebearer separates close friends ... A revealer of secrets walks about as a gossip, so do not meddle with him who opens his lips wide.(Proverbs 16:28; 20:19 HRB)
When we walk in the love of our Elohim, we must CHOOSE, by a deliberate act of our will, to NOT listen to, or accept, the negative reports concerning other people.  Instead, we must choose to believe in the deliver…

SHEVET 9 His Treasured Possession
“Then they that feared YHWH spoke one with another; and YHWH hearkened, and heard, and a book of remembrance was written before Him, for them that feared YHWH, and that thought upon His name.  And they shall be MINE, says YHWH Tzva’ot, in the day that I do make, even MY OWN TREASURE; and I will spare them, as a man spares his own son that serves him. Then shall you again discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serves Elohim and him that serves Him not.”  (Malachi 3:16-18 HRV, emphasis mine)

When there are those of us gathered together in fellowship, or a congregational setting, speaking of things concerning our Elohim, it comes as no surprise that He hears and notes everything that we say and discuss.  And when we are careful to show Him all of the love, reverence, and honor that is due Him for WHO He is, He is just as careful to make note of it.  But to realize, however, that a record book is being kept of these discussions is som…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has created both hot and cold, fire and ice.  Thank You, ABBA, for the warm heat that envelopes us in the cold of winter, and thank You, Father, for the cool breeze that refreshes us during the hot days of summer.  I think of You, my Creator, when I sip my hot cup of coffee in the morning, and I appreciate You with the cold glass of iced tea in the afternoon.  And then there is the hot bowl of soup on a cold and windy night, as well as the homemade ice cream for the 4th of July.  I could write pages on the hot/cold elements, yet at the foundation of all of it, there is YOU, the “Adon Kol Ha’arets”, the Elohim of ALL the earth.  May I continuously know the warmth of YOUR presence all the days of my life, here, on this earth.  AMEIN!

SHEVET 8 A Psalm of David Psalm 139

“O YAHWEH, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down, and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar off. You sift my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For not a word is on my tongue, but, lo, O YAHWEH, You know it all. You have closed me in behind, and in front, and Your hand is laid on me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is set on high; I am not able to reach it.
Where shall I go from Your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from Your face? If I go up to Heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there! If I take the wings of the morning, dwelling in the uttermost part of the sea, even there Your hand shall lead me; and Your right hand shall seize me. If I say: Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light around me. SHEVET 7 Trials
“Yet He knows the way I take; when HE has TESTED ME, I will come out like gold.” (Job 23:10 CJB, emphasis mine)

Every four years, somewhere in this world, the Olympic Games are held.   All of us will watch spellbound, witnessing different athletes from around the world compete for ‘the gold’.  The Olympic Games are a tradition many centuries old; however, for the athlete competing at the Games, the road to get there is a long one.  The commitment to excellence, the consistency in training, and the ‘trials’ that have to be endured (physical, mental, and emotional), are ALL a ‘testing ground’ to refinement.  Only by cultivating ‘tunnel vision’, by keeping their eyes on the goal of the Olympic Gold Medal, are these athletes able to endure all that they go through.
Is it not the same for us?  As we pass through our own ‘Olympic Trials’, we are also to keep our eyes on the prize (Philippians 3:14).  Yet, how many of us murmur and complain at the very ‘trial’ that is refining us…

SHEVET 5 To Cleave
“But ye that did CLEAVE unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.”  (Deuteronomy 4:4 KJV, emphasis mine)
And those of you CLINGING to YAHWEH your Elohim are alive today, all of you.  (Deuteronomy 4:4 ISV, emphasis mine)
Memory foam is a fascinating substance, and I can remember when I purchased my first memory foam pillow.  I would watch in amazement the indentation of my handprint, when I continuously pressed my open hand in different places on the pillow.  How the foam would mold itself to the shape of my hand was a source of wonder to me, and it still is.  Amazing stuff, this memory foam.
In a sense, WE are to be like this ‘memory foam’, molding and shaping ourselves around the person and character of our Elohim.  The word translated in our opening verse into the word ‘cleave,’ is related to the Hebrew word “dābaq” (Strong’s #H1692), which is the word found in Genesis 2:24, speaking of the ‘joining together’ (cleaving) of Adam and Eve.  Just as Ada…

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who has created each one of us individually, differently, uniquely, and completely original in our own way.  You have filled and anointed each one of us with our own unique blend of talents and giftings, and then placed us where YOU wanted us to be.  I am neither carpenter, nor law enforcement officer, but I admire and respect those that are.  I cannot perform delicate surgery on the human eye, neither can I make heads or tails of a complicated blue-print of a modern, multi-story building, but I rest in the place that YOU, ABBA, have chosen for me to walk in.  I acknowledge and recognize that ALL wisdom and knowledge has its source and foundation in You, my Adon, for it is Your wisdom that laid the foundation of all that we know!  You are the “El De’ot”, the God of ALL knowledge, and worthy of ALL honor, praise, and glory!

SHEVET 4 Parched
I spread forth my hands unto You; my soul thirsts after You, as a weary land. Selah”(Psalm 143:6 HRV)

The drought conditions we have been experiencing in different parts of the western United States during the last several years has been an on again/off again story.  The resulting fires caused by the dry conditions has been heart breaking, as we watch families lose their homes, belongings, and even their lives, to these merciless forces of nature.  A lack of water IN, and ON, the land is a serious and critical issue, one that we have little means of alleviating in our own human capacity.  It is YHWH Elohim , our Creator, who gives us rain in due season, but when the heavens are shut up, we pray, and trust in our ABBA Father.
Consider, if you would, the lack of ‘spiritual’ water in our personal lives.  THIS water is NOT in short supply, and there is no reason for a ‘dry’ condition in our spirit man.  If we have searched our hearts, done “teshuvah” (repentance and turning…

Daily Blessing

Blessed are You, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is revealing to me the all-encompassing wonder associated with the ‘fear’ of You.  To fear my Elohim is to stand in awe and reverence of who You are, my Creator and Redeemer.  To fear You is to acknowledge Your rule and reign in my life, for You are my King and Master.  To fear You is the consuming need and desire to never disappoint You with any of my words or actions; may my life be something that does not cause You to be ashamed of me.  To fear You is the determination to walk in obedience to Your Torah, Your precepts, and Your commandments.  And all of this combined will bring me into an intimate relationship with You, my Yah, that I might walk in the wisdom that You bestow upon me.  Hallelu-YAH!

SHEVET 3 GOSSIP
“They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather GOSSIP, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere.”(Psalm 41:6 NLT)
Some years ago, my husband and I found ourselves involved in a situation that we did not enjoy, did not want any part of, a situation that did irreparable harm to a couple that were, at that time, close friends of ours.  It was a situation all caused by ‘gossip’, and fueled by the leader of a local congregation.  Beloved, this is a situation that ought NEVER to be.
How many of us – in all honesty – have started a conversation with the words, “Have you talked to (or seen) so-and-so lately?”  Or what about, “Have you heard what’s happened to ‘what’s his name’?”  Brothers and sisters, beware of people trying to ‘pump’ you for information.  Our HOLY  and set-apart Father knows who He can trust with what He chooses to reveal, and He knows who will go straight to the prayer closet with what He reveals to them.  If we, as children of “E…

SHEVET 2 Healthy Eating Habits
“I don't withdraw from His lips' command; I treasure His words MORE THAN my daily food.”(Job 23:12 CJB, emphasis mine)
Americans, as a majority, are known for unsound eating habits, and questionable diets.  The term ‘junk food junkie’ originated in the United States, which is also home to the many varieties of so called ‘junk food’.  It is no small wonder that of the healthproblems millions of Americans suffer from, many are weight and diet related.  We simply do not have healthy diets, and it is a ‘discipline’, unfortunately, that many of us have forgotten.  As I write this, please do not feel that I am pointing fingers at anyone in particular.  ABBA Father is dealing with ME first, concerning my eating habits.
We cannot afford to forget this discipline in the spiritual realm, either.  We are what we eat, both in the natural, and in the spiritual.  If we choose to consume a high calorie, high carbohydrate diet of ‘junk food’, then we must expect to …

Blessed are YOU, YHWH our Elohim, King of the universe, who is teaching me the importance of discipline in every area of my life.  Discipline and self-control are necessary character traits of a disciple; I must therefore cultivate these two uncomfortable friends, that I might truly be called a ‘disciple of YHWH’.  You have clearly said that the one who does not seek to control him/herself is as a city without walls, broken down and destroyed.  Help me, “El De’ot”, my God of all knowledge, to submit to the control of the Spirit of YAH, the ‘Ruach HaKodesh’, that the mature fruit of ‘self-control’ would be evident in my life. SHEVET 1 Being Set-Apart …Then having these promises, beloved, let US cleanse OURSELVES from all defilement of flesh and of spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of Elohim.”  (2Corinthians 7:1 HRB, emphasis mine)

Holiness is best explained as a commitment, dedication and consecration to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and it is also revealed in sincere and total obedience toward YHWH, and His Torah.  Additionally, it will be seen in the integrity with which we handle our relationships involving other people.  Being set-apart and holy was never intended to be total isolation…
