Judgment

“The thing that has been--it is what will be again, and that which has been done is that which will be done again; and there is nothing new under the sun.”  (Ecclesiastes 1:9 Amp)

I have been disturbed for several years by many of the comments I continue to hear concerning the subject of judgment, tribulation and persecution.  Many of the people making these comments, those who profess to have an intimate relationship with our risen Savior, Messiah Yeshua, believe that America is, for the most part, exempt from any of the above three mentioned.  Even the more frequent ‘natural’ disasters that are taking place are reported to be “just” part of a cycle that we are going through.  I am extremely concerned for those who are misled and deceived into believing this sugar-coated fairy tale, for it is not the Word of God.

Elijah the Tishbite was considered one of the greatest prophets of YHWH to have lived, yet he lived under one of the worst kings of Israel.  Because of the unbelievable wickedness and evil of the LEADERSHIP of that country, the entire nation found themselves in the midst of a drought that lasted years – one that afflicted the just AS WELL as the unjust – it was not discriminating.  We know from the Word that during this period ‘YHWH Elohim’ DID have a remnant that was true to Him (1Kings 19:18, Romans 11:4), as He will always have in every generation.  And just as the rain will always fall on the just as well as the unjust, and the sun will rise on the wicked as well as the righteous (Matthew 5:45), we also know that YHWH does not ever change, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6).

In Deuteronomy 28, we find a comprehensive account of the blessings of serving YHWH Elohim, and the curse and judgment that will come upon us if we turn away from Him, and His instructions in righteous and moral living (TORAH).  If we were to study these ‘curses’ fully, we would find a remarkable similarity between THIS chapter and the many judgments found in Book of Revelation.  Brothers and sisters, Elohim will NOT be mocked.  Yes, He is a God of love and mercy when we turn to Him in sincere “teshuvah” and repentance.  But when we continue to compromise what is blatant sin, He will only tolerate it for so long, and then there is judgment.

When Israel was taken into captivity, and carried to Babylon, not all of the population taken there were idol worshippers, not all had turned from serving the God that had brought them out of the land of Egypt.  The Word tells of us of several that served the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  We know of Daniel, and his compatriots, as well as the prophet Ezekiel; yet these people, though innocent, had to suffer the captivity and banishment as well.

America has many sins to atone for.  Even though this country was originally founded on the principles of the Torah, of the Word of God, it has abandoned many of them, and is busy legislating more away.  The slaughter of millions of innocent unborn babies to the god of abortion is something that the Creator of life did not tolerate in ancient Israel; we think He will tolerate this now?  Pornography and all of its attached sexual perversions, in the form of fornication, adultery, child trafficking, bestiality, etc, how many places in the Word of God do we have warning after warning against these sins?  And very plainly, the Lord tells us, For the Day of Adonai is near for all nations; as you did, it will be done to you; your dealings will come back on your own head” (Obadiah 1:15) – a clear warning concerning the way in which we have dealt with the nation of Israel.

Perhaps the most sobering word to be found within YHWH’s Word is that in Leviticus 18:20-30.  So much of what YHWH is speaking of here is exactly what is found within the borders of this nation today, and is as common place as a cup of coffee.  Listen to what the Creator of the Universe says:

“Moreover, you shall not lie carnally with your neighbor's wife, to defile yourself with her. You shall not give any of your children to pass through the fire and sacrifice them to Molech [the fire god] {abortion?}, nor shall you profane the name of your God [by giving it to false gods]. I am the Lord. You shall not lie with a man as with a woman; it is an ABOMINATION. [I Cor. 6:9, 10.] Neither shall you lie with any beast and defile yourself with it; neither shall any woman yield herself to a beast to lie with it; it is confusion, PERVERSION, and degradedly carnal. Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways, for in all these things the nations are defiled which I am casting out before you.  And the land is defiled; therefore I visit the iniquity of it upon it, and the land itself VOMITS OUT HER INHABITANTS.  So you shall keep My statutes and My ordinances and shall not commit any of these abominations, neither the native-born NOR ANY STRANGER WHO SOJOURNS AMONG YOU, for all these abominations have the men of the land done who were before you, and the land is defiled-- [Do none of these things] lest the land SPEW YOU OUT when you defile it as it spewed out the nation that was before you. Whoever commits any of these abominations shall be cut off from among [his] people. So keep My charge: do not practice any of these abominable customs which were practiced before you and defile yourselves by them. I am the Lord your God.”(emphasis mine)

For those of you who believe that only pertains to Israel, let me point you towards Isaiah 26:21: “For, behold, YHWH comes forth out of His place to visit upon the inhabitants of the earth their iniquity; the EARTH also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” (emphasis mine)

I cannot ‘rebuke’ the adversary concerning these natural disasters that are happening to our nation, nor can I ‘take authority over’ satanic activity in the legislative wheels of our government.  I CAN repent for the sins of the nation in which I reside (see 2Chronicles 7:14; Daniel 9:3-19), and ask YAH to have mercy on the remnant of those that are called by HIS Name.  I CAN pray that HIS Name be sanctified once again in America, that His Kingdom be blessed, that His will be done in heaven and in America.  I CAN pray for the Shalom of Jerusalem, and blessings upon the nation of Israel.  I CAN thank Him, that I “live in the shelter of `Elyon, and I spend my nights in the shadow of Shaddai.  I say to Adonai, "My refuge! My fortress! My God, in whom I trust!" (Psalm 91:1-2).  And I can pray that the great ‘falling away’ that the Word of God speaks of (Matthew 24:12) does not happen here in our great country …

“so is My word that goes out from My mouth — it will not return to Me unfulfilled; but it will accomplish what I intend, and cause to succeed what I sent it to do."  (Isaiah 55:11 CJB)
