Give

Give, and you will receive. A large quantity, pressed together, shaken down, and running over will be put into your pocket. THE STANDARDS YOU USE FOR OTHERS WILL BE APPLIED TO YOU.” (Luke 6:38 GWT, emphasis mine)

Years ago, a principal was commonly taught, first in the home, but also in the schools, known as “The Golden Rule”.  Simply put, this principal was based upon the Word of YHWH, doing unto others as you would have them do unto you, and loving your neighbor as yourself (Mark 12:28-31).  Ancient Jewish Wisdom also teaches something similar:  ‘What you hate, do to no one’.  By applying these principals to our lives, we learn to turn our focus OFF of ourselves, and ON to those around us, insuring that we die to the ‘self’ that continually tries to rise up in importance.

Our present society has, for the most part, lost sight of these principals.  It is all about ‘ME’, ‘MINE’ and ‘MY’, and the world functions on a cut-throat mentality.  The majority of people are out for ‘Number One’, and many do not care who they bulldoze to get where they believe they need to be.  Such is NOT the economics of the Kingdom of God.

He who is in love with [his] life will have it taken from him; and he who has no care for his life in this world will keep it for ever and ever.”  (John 12:25 BBE, insert mine)

First of all, it is YHWH Elohim that gives us the wisdom to GET wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18), and it is not by withholding from those that are in need (Proverbs 28:27).  Everything that we have is from our YAH (James 1:17), even the breath that we draw (Isaiah 42:5), and yes, it IS for us to enjoy and delight in.  However, it is NEVER meant for us to hoard and retain.

When we allow the Holy Spirit of YHWH to teach us to GIVE, we are developing the character of Messiah Yeshua more fully within us, something that we know pleases our Father.  And as we give, simply with the joy of giving, in obedience to the will of Elohim, we understand that “He is a rewarder of those that seek Him out” (Hebrews 11:6)

"For God so loved the world that He GAVE His only and unique Son, so that everyone who trusts in Him may have eternal life, instead of being utterly destroyed. For God DID NOT send the Son into the world to judge the world, BUT RATHER so that through Him, the world might be saved.”  (John 3:16-17 CJB, emphasis mine)
