Code of Conduct

“Only be sure as citizens so to CONDUCT YOURSELVES [that] your manner of life [will be] worthy of the good news (the Gospel) of Christ …” (Philippians 1:27 Amp, emphasis mine)

“For you are a set-apart people to יהוה your Elohim. יהוה your Elohim has CHOSEN YOU to be a people for Himself, a treasured possession above all the peoples on the face of the earth.”  (Deuteronomy 7:6 ISR, emphasis mine)

From the very beginning, the instructions set forth in the TORAH – Divine instructions for righteous and moral living – would mark YHWH’s people as “different”.  In the 3500 some years since the giving of the TORAH at Mount Sinai, the Hebrew nation has been the most misunderstood nation in existence, yet they are also the most recognizable, by their strict allegiance to this code called “TORAH”.

Would that we, as born-again believers in the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua of Nazareth, were that recognizable.  We are called to be citizens of a NEW country, with a NEW King as leader, and it is by His laws that we must now be governed and controlled.

However, by His OWN words, Messiah Yeshua admits that He does NOTHING but that He hears from His Father (John 8:28, 38; John 15:10, 15).  We know that YHWH Elohim was the giver of the TORAH at Mount Sinai (Exodus 19:16-20), and we know that Messiah Yeshua is the TORAH made flesh (John 1:1), the living example of a TORAH-observant, TORAH-FULFILLED life, and lifestyle.  Is it not THIS manner of life and conduct – the same that our Messiah lived – that is worthy of His Name?

I call upon you therefore, I the prisoner of the Master, to WALK WORTHILY of the calling with which you were called, with all humility and meekness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, being eager to guard the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace – one body and one Spirit, as you also were called in one expectation of your calling, one Master, one belief, one immersion, one Elohim and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”  (Ephesians 4:1-6 ISR, emphasis mine)

“You are the light of the world. It is impossible for a city to be hidden on a mountain. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it shines to all those in the house. Let your light so shine before men, so that they see your good works and praise your Father who is in the heavens.”  (Matthew 5:14-16 ISR)
