Thoughts

“The majority of us recognize the necessity of receiving the Holy Spirit for living, but we do not sufficiently recognize the need for drawing on the resources of the Holy Spirit FOR THINKING.” Oswald Chambers (1874–1917) {emphasis mine}

I have pondered this quotation many times. I am much aware that we do not completely recognize the need we have for the Spirit of YAH operating freely in our lives; we humans tend to rely upon our own strengths much too much. But in our thought life?

At the moment of the “new birth”, the HOLY Spirit comes to live inside of us, at our invitation; HE is the holy, sanctified ‘seed’ that comes to dwell on the inside of us. He is the same Spirit that raised our Yeshua/Jesus from the dead. He is now, however, living inside those of us that have received Yeshua/Jesus as our Lord AND Savior. But even though we are born again AT THAT MOMENT, we continue to mature and grow – just as we do in the natural, in the physical. That ‘seed’ on the inside of us has…

JOY

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who fills us with Your JOY when we open our hearts to You.  We find strength in the JOY that comes from You, and it is a fruit of the Ruach HaKodesh, an evidence of Your work within us, perfecting those things that concern us.Sing praise to Adonai, you faithful of his; and give thanks on recalling his holiness. For his anger is momentary, but his favor lasts a lifetime. Tears may linger for the night, but with dawn come cries of JOY.”Spring up, O well, within my soul!Let the JOY of my YAH overflow to all of those around me!Hallelu-YAH! A Day of Repentance

Favor

“And Y’shua would grow in his stature and in his wisdom and in FAVOR with Elohim and man” (Luke 2:52 AENT, emphasis mine)

“Let not kindness and truth forsake you – Bind them around your neck, Write them on the tablet of your heart, Thus finding favour and good insight In the eyes of Elohim and man.” (Proverbs 3:3-4 The Scriptures [ISR], emphasis mine)

For many years, we have been taught friendship with the world means being an enemy to God (see James 4:4), and to a certain extent, this is correct. However, ‘favor’ is something completely different from friendship. Noah Webster defines ‘favor’ as: “to regard with kindness; to support; to aid or have the disposition to aid; to wish success to; to befriend; to encourage; to be merciful to” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).

‘Favor’ with Father God is evident every time a prayer or petition is answered, every time a need is met, and a care is dealt with. ‘Favor’ with our Elohim is His grace: undeserved, u…

Forgiveness

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who forgives me.When I come to You, acknowledging the SIN, the disobedience to Torah that I have committed, You are quick and faithful to forgive me.By the blood of Messiah Yeshua/Jesus, I can stand cleansed before You, once again in right relationship with my ABBA Father, thankful, so thankful.Continually search MY heart, Lord, lest there be anything in it that is displeasing in Your sight. My one desire is dwell in Your house forever … AMEN! 1John 1:7; Rev 1:4; Ps 139:23; Ps 65:4; Ps 84:4, 10 ©2011

Case Dismissed

For ever, O LORD, thy word is SETTLED in heaven.” (Psalm 119:89 KJV, emphasis mine)
Those of us that have been on the inside of a courtroom have some little experience as to the workings of our judicial system. When all of the legal procedures have run their course, and all that remains is the judge’s decision, stress is heightened and nerves are frayed. However, when the gavel comes down, the decision is made, and it is ‘SETTLED’.
Noah Webster defines ‘settled’ as “to make certain or permanent, to determine, to adjust or confirm, to establish, to be free from doubt” (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).We know that ‘for ever’ relates to a time of infinite duration, or an unending future. So, from this verse, we can safely conclude that the Word of our God is infinitely and permanently established AND confirmed in heaven, NEVER to change, nor is it subject to appeal!
The heaven and the earth will pass away, but My Words will not pass away, never!”(Matthew 24:3…

The Heavens

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who created the Sun, Moon, and ALL the host of heaven. You set each one of them in their appointed place, called each one by name, and gave each one a purpose, a destiny.Nothing in the heavens above moves without YOUR knowledge, without YOUR consent, and according to YOUR plan. You are “Elohei Kedem”, the ETERNAL God, and You reign and rule forever!Marantha, my King, marantha! Even in the Storm

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who leads us TO the still, calm waters. When the waves of this world are crashing over the sides of the boat, and everything appears to be sinking fast, here You are, walking on the water, reminding us who is in control. You speak, and the storms of life obey Your Word. Our eyes remain focused on You, the “El Elyon”, the MOST HIGH God, while this world, as we know it, spins like a whirlwind. We know that You have YOUR way, even in the whirlwind … Thank You, ABBA, that You will never betray one that trusts in You.AMEN! Sabbath Rest

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who has given us the Sabbath to be a sign for all eternity, verifying that we are YOUR children, Your set-apart and sanctified people, walking in covenant relationship with You.We thank You, Adonai Elohim, that as You chose THIS day to rest, we too may rest and honor You on THIS day, the seventh day, Your Sabbath.Thank You, Yeshua HaMashiach, that You are our ‘Lord of the Sabbath’, and we will always stand complete in You! Prayer

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who hears EVERY prayer, called out to You from the depths of my heart! You hear it when it is nothing more than a whisper; You hear it when I cry it as loud as I can; and You hear it when it is nothing more than silence deep within my innermost being. You are my “El Hanne’ eman”, the Faithful God, who answers my prayers. You may not always answer them in the way I want You to, but I acknowledge that Your ways are higher than my ways, and Your thoughts are higher than my thoughts.I submit to YOUR wisdom, ABBA, for I know that You are the source of all wisdom, and in Your wisdom, You want only the best for me. I love You, my Avi, my Father. Ps 65:2; 66:19; Deut 7:9; 2Sam 22:20; Ps 34:4; 2Tim 3:11; Isa 55:9; Ps 136:5; Pro 3:19 ©2011

His NAME is for all Eternity

O Lord, YOUR NAME is eternal; and the memory of you will have no end.”(Psalm 135:13 BBE, emphasis mine)
In the Hebrew language, a person’s ‘name’ is not JUST for identity purposes, so that others can recognize who he/she is.A person’s ‘name’ is a description of WHO, and WHAT, that person is; the ‘name’ will say something about the character of the individual. So, when YHWH is telling us that HIS ‘name’ is for all eternity, He is also telling us that the person BEHIND the ‘name’ is of a continuous existence, and will never cease to be.
The “El-Gibbor”, the ALL-Mighty God, will always be ALL-Mighty, for that is His character, and that is His ‘name’.The “El-Shaddai”, the ALL Sufficient God, will always be ALL Sufficient, willing to meet ALL of our needs, for that is WHO He is.He is the “El Yeshuati”, the God of our Salvation, for that is also His ‘name’, and from everlasting to everlasting, that will never change. And He is the “El Olam”, the EVERLASTING God, the One who has no beginning, a…

By Name

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is the Creator of everything that lives, moves, and has breath. In spite of the vastness of this universe, You are mindful of each individual one of us, and call us by name! You care about our needs, our wants, our pains, our joys, and when we are careful to delight ourselves IN You, You are gracious to give to us the desires of our hearts. You are glorious, Lord, and there is none, NO ONE, like You! Night Seasons

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who gently speaks to me in the dark hours of the night, teaching me, and giving me instructions on things I need to know. You even fill my heart with a song, and when I wake in the morning with a hymn of praise on my lips, I know my ‘YHWH Elohim’ has visited me, giving me HIS‘song in the night’.I find answers to questions, decision where there was indecision, and resolve where there was wavering.Truly, You are the “El Hannora”, the AWESOME God, our 24/7 God, for You never slumber, and You never sleep! Awesome, so awesome is WHO You are! Ps 16:7; Job 35:10; Ps 42:8; Neh 9:32; Ps 121:4 ©2011

I DO NOT CHANGE

“All Scripture is breathed by Elohim and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for setting straight, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of Elohim might be fitted, equipped for every good work.”(2Timothy 3:16-17, taken from The Scriptures, Copyright by Institute for Scripture Research. Used by permission)
“For I am the Lord, I do not change …”(Malachi 3:6 Amp)
I have been born again for approximately 30 years, and have been teaching the Word of God, in one form or another, for more than 20 years. For several of those 20 years, I devoted time to the research of the origin of our Christian Bible, as to how and when it was translated.Accuracy is always questionable, especially when we look at all of the many versions available today. There are many reference books available for the reader on this subject; I will not engage in a debate as to who, what, when and why.It is because of the research that I have done that I now limit my Bible use to a few select translations: the Complet…

The Shepherd

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is faithful to confirm to us when we make the correct and right decision. As we wait upon You, Lord, we trust You to guide us, step by step, along the path that You have chosen for us to walk. You are “YHWH, our Roeh”, God, our Shepherd.Because of WHO You are, we know that You will always lead us beside still waters, and through green pastures. We listen for YOUR voice, ABBA, telling us, “THIS is the right way, walk in it.” Ps 23; Isa 30:21 ©2011

Cop-Out

If you [really] love Me, you will keep (OBEY) My commands.” (John 14:15 Amp, emphasis mine)
While listening to a Messianic Shabbat service over the week-end, I was pulled up short by a statement that I heard in the middle of a message:“We [the body of Christ] have a greater ADDICTION to the lack of instruction [TORAH] than we do FOR instruction [TORAH] (Rabbi Ralph Messer).Rabbi, you hit the nail on the head.  In other words, we born-again believers would far prefer not to have anything to do with the Torah, the Divine instructions in righteous living, than to even acknowledge it exists. Oh, shame, shame.
‘TORAH’ means instruction, or direction, or a set of instructions, such as is found in the first five books of the Tanakh, otherwise referred to as the ‘Old Testament’.Many times ALL of God’s word is referred to as ‘TORAH’, for it is ALL His divine instructions, according to 2Timothy 3:16.When an individual, or a church’s doctrine, states it is now considered ‘grace’ to pick and choo…

HOPE

Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the universe, who is my source of confident hope for all of my tomorrows.Because I know Your WORD is true, because I know that You are not a man that lies, and because I know that You are faithful, I trust You, absolutely and implicitly.I KNOW that as sure as the sun will rise in the east, my “El Hanne’ eman”, God, the Faithful God, is my hope for tomorrow. And because of this, I can face each new day with a calm expectancy, knowing that YOU are in complete control!Hallelu-YAH!Our God reigns! Fruit of Repentance

“Produce the fruit of perfect repentance.”(Matthew 3:8 Hebrew Gospel of Matthew, George Howard, ©1995)
We know, according to the forces of nature, apples produce apples, corn produces corn, and roses produce thorns, but eventually also roses, and some even produce hips, too.Elohim spoke it, decreed it, and every seed produces after its own kind (Genesis 1:11).‘Fruit’, according to the dictionary, can also mean the “production, effect or consequence” of an action or event (American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828).
So, let us look at the ‘action’ of ‘perfect repentance’.First, ‘repentance’ is NOT remorse, simply being sorry we got caught doing wrong, with the accompanying fear of punishment.‘Repentance’ is the gut-wrenching, heart-breaking, deep-feeling sorrow that we experience, knowing that we have offended and dishonored someone we love and respect dearly: our Father God.And WITH this sorrow is the recognition of the need to CHANGE.Whatever the course of action …
